March 19, 200916 yr Well I figured that people wanted an all or none decision on NFs and as we had backed down on the MF/UK/Ireland thing it seemed like the right thing to do. Why ban them all in the contest after this, but let them in this time? It doesn't really make sense to me. I thought Jerick had a string of future entries that he has mentioned before and that Tom would understand. i think there may have been some misscomunication somewhere.
March 19, 200916 yr Author I thought Jerick had a string of future entries that he has mentioned before and that Tom would understand. yeah, I have many songs I would like to send, but it is just that when I'm into send a particular song.. I only want to send that particular song..
March 19, 200916 yr i think there may have been some misscomunication somewhere. It's just that Rich and TiP have both said if we go back on Sweden, UK and Ireland we should go back on all of them and I think that's fair. I don't think banning them will have any major consequences this time. yeah, I have many songs I would like to send, but it is just that when I'm into send a particular song.. I only want to send that particular song.. and you aren't into ANY of your lined up songs at the moment? -_-

March 19, 200916 yr Hrmph I don't know what to say. I thought we were getting somewhere, now it's being suggested that I'm like some sort of evil leader forcing you all to change while the moderator isn't here. :/ It's not your fault. But Personally I thought it was ridiculous how some ES losing National Finalists could be entered and yet those from Sweden, UK & Ireland could not. Whilst I still think it is stupid that you can enter a well known song in the charts, or receiving a huge amount of radio/video airplay like Love Story in BJSC XIV, yet you cannot enter a song that will never be a hit single in a million years just because it is a failed Eurovision National song entry. Because I thought this contest was and should be all about discovering new, unknown, or obscure music?

This arguement should not affect anymore of this contest so do what you are comfortable with Aaron and I wish you all the best in hosting XV ^_^

Because I thought this contest was and should be all about discovering new, unknown, or obscure music? Well this is why I'm (trying) to make a stamp as host and making it so no losing National Finalists can take part as it was only a recent rule change (which no one even took advantage of in XIV!) that I never felt was right. Surely me disallowing the Norwegian National Finalists in this contest is something you would agree with? I also thought "Love Story" was a bit wrong to send but we're over that and I don't think it'll be happening again...
March 19, 200916 yr -_- I have totally been shown up in my quest to become a mod of this forum  I really would love to and would do a good job if your reading Jester my man

March 19, 200916 yr For now we should accept your decision as host. This arguement should not affect anymore of this contest so do what you are comfortable with Aaron and I wish you all the best in hosting XV ^_^ Phew, thanks Tom. It seems whenever I host I cause drama or debate, first time it was the decision to only make myself qualify (though that wasn't HUGE), then it was the trouble deciding whether Sophie or Natasha qualified. (where the rule has since changed and Sophie would have now made it)

March 19, 200916 yr It may not have been huge too you. I'm glad i made the final with RBW, i was so worried i wouldn't as it was my first real risk

March 19, 200916 yr It may not have been huge too you. I'm glad i made the final with RBW, i was so worried i wouldn't as it was my first real risk What I meant is that I don't remember there being a huge debate about it. At least you made the final that time! Kylienips and Land Of Jack lost out on would-have-been places in the final under the old rules.

(where the rule has since changed and Sophie would have now made it) well the Natasha-Sophie decisionall came right in the end and I'm sure this one will too. To be fair last time you hosted you were sort of thrown in at the deepend having only been in on contest so far!

To be fair last time you hosted you were sort of thrown in at the deepend having only been in on contest so far! In the end I think the Sophie song has grown on me so much that I would rather that it made the final, though it won a spin-off for you, so it's not all bad. I was, and it kinda crept up on me again out of the blue. I've always wanted to host again, it's just a shame it's under these circumstances and feeling like everyone is against me. I don't think we'll see the return of the banners this time, sadly. :(
