December 28, 201212 yr Bought the Season 1-4 boxset in HMV today with some Christmas money and now I can go my own pace and... It's becoming one of my favourite TV shows! All the characters are so likeable and charming. VanPelt
January 21, 201312 yr Just finished the 4th Season and although the finale wasn't as good as the 3rd Season's finale, it was still brilliant! Starting Season 5 tomorrow/later today and I really can't wait. It's frustrating me a little though, I get impatient when I don't know who the main killers are in these type shows! (Same thing with the mother in 'How I Met Your Mother'! - I just wanna know goddamnit! :P) But yeah, great work and I'm so pleased I managed to catch up relatively quickly! :D
January 21, 201312 yr The killer still hasn't been revealed! I think that's what keeps viewers interested. Otherwise ratings would've dropped to 1.2 or something a couple of episodes after the big revelation.
January 22, 201312 yr I reckon this show is a perfect exhibit of what many European shows (perhaps particularly Scandinavian ones) do better than American shows. The Mentalist would have been so much better if it had ended after 3'ish seasons, it would have felt finished, concluded and would have been a high quality show all the way through. Instead they decide to drag it on until quality has dropped so much that viewers no longer like it or actors don't want to do more seasons, ie. a quantity over quality approach. As long as there's money in it, the diminishing quality of the overall story doesn't matter, same tendency can be seen in many other American shows with continuing or semi-continuing story lines (Lost, How I Met Your Mother, Prison Break, etc..). Compare this to for instance Danish shows, such as The Killing. Would The Killing have had viewers for another season or 3? Definitely, but the overall feel of the universe would possibly deteriorate, and thus it was decided to move on to something new. The Mentalist would probably have been one of my all time favourite show if it had stopped after say 3 seasons, instead it continues in reiterations of the same plots and the initially promising Red John story line, which has now essentially turned into an endless goose chase. Rant over.
May 9, 201312 yr Holy crap. Just caught up. The ending of this season has probably been the most exciting one yet. I mean the last few minutes, not the episode. I am feeling it's getting really close to the wire and possibly ending next season. Hoping for a renewal, CBS  And that new storyline with J.J. something! I am RIDICULOUSLY intrigued about what he has in that box. With so many Red John's 'friends' crawling out of the woodwork this really looks more like The Following now  Hands down the best serial killer character on TV ever <3
May 10, 201312 yr I agree. The last 10 minutes or so of the episode was the best thing about it. It would have been just a standard, filler ep otherwise. I'm actually GUTTED Lorelei had been killed off. This episode really hit me, as to how much I love her! So, so close to finding out who it is now! The only thing is, is it definitely one of those names? I think it is, although I have NO IDEA who it is exactly. So intense. I can't see them going for much longer so if next season isn't the last, I'm pretty sure the season after will be.
May 10, 201312 yr Yeah Lorelei has become pretty amazing towards the end and it was both shocking and sad to see her in that video. Towards the end of the episode I was actually thinking Teresa might have something to do with Red John! The way Patrick was looking at her at times when she was saying that she could keep secrets! But Lisbon being involved with Red John would kill the show so I hope that doesn't happen.

But Lisbon being involved with Red John would kill the show so I hope that doesn't happen.I thought that she'd be a suspect at least (hence why he wouldn't tell her), but I think that it won't be her, Van Pelt, Rigsby or Cho, because like you said, it'd kill the show completely and wouldn't be very fair on the viewers! But looking from the facebook page, they seem adamant that one of the seven suspects we know now, is definitely Red John. TBH, I've always had a feeling it could be Bircham, but then I think that's too easy and too obvious.
October 21, 201311 yr The latest episode is confusing. Are we supposed to think he's Red John? I don't believe it. I think he's just one of RJ's "minions". I did find this though... http://i.imgflip.com/4a7bq.gif http://i.imgflip.com/4a7e2.gif Interesting.
November 4, 201311 yr So what an EXPLOSIVE ending of last night's episode! I don't think it's THAT simple though. Still might be any one of them (including the former CBI guy and even Visualize freak (the whole I WILL RETURN!!11 thing was a bit ODD)). Or, I have a theory actually, that it's ALL three of them working together!
December 1, 201311 yr FANTASTIC episode last week! Can't wait to see what happens with the show now that the whole Red John thing is over. (Or is it? who the hell knows with them lmao) Gotta admit totally didn't see it coming! But I realised that he hid a gun in that church as soon as they got there Hope they will wrap it up really nice this season but I doubt it'll happen since they added two new series regulars to their cast! Maybe a 12-episode final season next year and get it over with?
