May 21, 200916 yr She was 59% certainty to go on the BBC's website. Ben was just 6%. just goes to show that viewer based statistics are pretty inaccurate! I don't care that Ben went ... it was about 6 weeks overdue anyway. I do want Debra to go desperately, but as previously commented in this thread, she MUST make it to the interviews - they'll slaughter her :D agreed.
May 21, 200916 yr Author I'm assuming they won't go for an all-female final - so out of the two males left - will it be Howard or James. I'm a little pleased because from the beginning I've always had a sneaky admiration for Howard although until last night's show - he had always seemed a little po-faced (and I'm not sure if that wasn't one of the reasons I liked him). I like James too - he's been made to look a bit of a bumbling buffoon over the series ... but I bet outside of the show - he is the only one of the original contestants who is actually good at his job. If he makes it to the final - I wouldn't be surprised to see that his CV is filled in with the truth. James was quite entertaining in the final bits last night though - when asked who he'd like to take into the Boardroom - he said if he could - he'd rather take Debra in twice. Anyone here old enough to remember an American actor from the 50's and 60's - because James looks like Lee J Cobb. Norma
May 21, 200916 yr Mu current ranking is 1. Kate 2. Yasmina 3. Howard 4. Lorraine 5. James 6. Debra I think it will be a Kate V Howard/Yasmina final. But then I've a feeling Lorraine might rock the boat!

Norma i prefer james, (and yes he DOES look like lee j cobb ), howard looks too much like a po faced kid . reckon appearances DO count, i think james has more of an authorititive stature about him then howie...

I reckon that Debra and Ben thought they'd blitz James in the boardroom - but despite looking really nervous (which he always does) James stood up for himself really well. Norma
May 21, 200916 yr I reckon that Debra and Ben thought they'd blitz James in the boardroom - but despite looking really nervous (which he always does) James stood up for himself really well. Norma Completely agree. Ben and Debra both said to the camera that there was no way anyone except James was going home - and look how wrong they were! I'm fairly pleased Ben went this week and I think the right team won. For some reason, I seem to have started liking Debra. I actually thought she was pretty good yesterday! Kate is still my favourite though. If anyone except her wins now it'll be a total joke imo.
May 21, 200916 yr Kate and Yasmina will properly be the final 2. But I'd really like to see Howard in it.
May 21, 200916 yr The final 2 will be Kate & Yasmina. It has to be surely. The spoiler thread on Digital Spy would also back this up to a degree. Howard has a small chance aswell i guess, but only if Kate or Yas do a complete mess of their inteviews or selling on the telly.
May 21, 200916 yr Anyway my Rankings update: Personal choice (Fav to Least): 01 (02). Lorraine 02 (01). James 03 (04). Yasmina 04 (05). Kate 05 (03). Howard 06 (07). Debra And more importantly what I think the outcome could be: 01 (01). Kate 02 (03). Yasmina 03 (02). Howard 04 (04). Debra -------------------- 05 (05). James 06 (06). Lorraine
May 21, 200916 yr I don't think VV should worry about that lol, we all know she's a strong woman, I bet she relates to Debra! Totally agree with those who said Ben talked himself into it. I don't think he was going to get fired before the three of them went back in, but I think James and Debra actually gave a really good account for why they should stay and stuck up for themselves. As Sir Alan noted, Ben was just saying words with no facts or substance. It was embarassing - and he should have gone weeks ago. I'm baffled as to what they DID see in him, I saw more in Rocky! I said two weeks ago I thought Mona, James and Lorraine would be the three to go before interview. Mona was correct, and I think Lorraine will go next week I'm afraid. My ideal final would be Lorraine vs Kate, two very different sides of the coin. I think it'll be Kate vs Howard or Yasmina though.. I would prefer James in the final though, he's kind, hilarious AND shows signs on being a good businessman.
May 22, 200916 yr What the hell has Debra got to do to get fired in this contest!!!!?????????     She was 59% certainty to go on the BBC's website. Ben was just 6%. I get the feeling Sirallun's holding out for a Claire Young effect with her. If Debra tones herself down as Claire did, she could be a very strong candidate. I'm not convinced she will though. Anyway, Ben's boardroom performance must have been what killed him off. He had very little substance behind his claims. But on the basis of the task, he should have been safe. The errors that he was involved in were mainly down to Debra's dog-mindedness. The rocking horse itself wasn't a bad idea at all, one sale would have done it. The mistake was not to allow for price negotiation. James is a bit of a buffoon, but I think he has a lot more to him than that. I think what he said about being nice and fair was spot on. Debra would have everybody going on strike; being successful has to involve people skills. And people skills are James' key strength. You would WANT to help him out, and I think he'd be a great motivator. Anyway, personal rankings 01. James 02. Lorraine 03. Yasmina 04. Kate 05. Howard ------------- 06. Debra Likely outcome 01. Kate 02. Yasmina 03. Howard 04. Debra 05. Lorraine 06. James
May 22, 200916 yr Claire should have got the job last year over Lee -_- I'm yet to agree with which candidate he hires, so hopefully he'll pick Kate and we can change that this year ^_^

May 22, 200916 yr Nick made a good point that the team could have said to the guy 'Listen, in the name of the books, give us full price, and we'll give you 200 back from the sales of our birthpools. Then they'd have won'
May 27, 200916 yr Well I'm really gutted at that. Wanted the other team to loose - purely to get rid of Debra, yet she had to go and do best this week :( Worried for Kate now, something telling me she might not be the favourite to win. Sir Alan doesnt seem to taken with her.
May 27, 200916 yr I just caught the last 15 minutes after watching one of the most unexpected worst footballing displays by an English team I have ever witnessed. So I only saw the boardroom. I immediately assumed SirAllun was going to fire Lorraine, but I'm delighted to be wrong again. It looks like from the end clips tonight for next week's interview show, it looks like two will get fired.
May 27, 200916 yr Probably the right result. No big mistakes were made during that task so I guess there wasn't much in it, but I had been quite sure that he'd boot Lorraine out, to even out the male-female divide and because she's nowhere near strong enough to win... I seriously hope Yasmina wins. It's surely a two-horse race between her and Debra...
