La Roux and Calvin Harris are to fight it out at the top of the singles chart this Sunday, with the former’s In For The Kill (Polydor) looking to complete a six-week journey to the top of the charts.

In For The Kill, currently number two in the charts after climbing from four last week, sold more than 17,000 units yesterday to sit at number one in OCC sales flashes, ahead of the current number one, Calvin Harris’s I’m Not Alone (Columbia).

Tinchy Stryder feat N Dubz’ Number One (4th And Broadway) looks set to score the highest new entry, while Trashmen’s Surfin’ Bird (Charly) looks likely to break the top forty, after featuring heavily in an episode of BBC 3’s Family Guy last Saturday.

On the albums chart, Depeche Mode’s Sounds of the Universe (Mute) is set to de-throne Lady GaGa’s The Fame (Polydor) from the number one slot.

Noisettes and Fightstar also look set to score top ten entries with Wild Young Hearts (Vertigo) and Be Human (Search And Destroy) respectively.

Can't wait for midweeks, I can't change my predictions now, that's why.

I haven't heard this tinchy/n-dubz track but it sounds like it'll be shocking. P!nk for top 20 today!

I don't agree that Tinchy will necessarily be #1 on Sunday (except with the song title :w00t: ).

Rap doesn't sell at all well on Amazon, and their ever-inceasing market share means they dilute iTunes influence on the overall chart nowadays.

Surfin Bird by the Trashmen? Hey, I bloody hope so...and, if so, then why?

Great tune!

I AM shocked at La Roux though :o

La Roux :o more to come i'm guessing Martin? :P

Edit: and they're there! thanks :)

Edited by spicefunk

It doesn't last long for La Roux sadly. Maybe. :(

BTW, why Noisettes are back at 5?

Edited by FMbassador11

The best number 1 in years!

Even if it does just get number 1 in the midweeks ;-)

I'm not sure if this is signficiant, but if Who's Loving You by The J5 charts on Sunday, I think it will be the longest time between an A-side and B-side charting in the UK. It was originally the B-side of I Want You Back in 1970. I hope they do it :)

Also would The Trashmen break a record, since it is 46 years (:o) since it is a US (but not UK) hit?
