May 9, 200916 yr Nah.... for the moment at least she seems a case of (mostly) good songs, not especially interesting artist.
May 9, 200916 yr Nah.... for the moment at least she seems a case of (mostly) good songs, not especially interesting artist. That's how i'd describe Little Boots tbh :o
May 9, 200916 yr I'd say Little Boots is way better, but they are screwing her over and therefore La Roux is stealing the thunder.
May 10, 200916 yr I discovered her before you charted her :smoke: I knew about her a good two months before you sent her. :smoke: Maybe longer actually. And I was talking about in the most recent contest LOL. I really love La Roux. Such an interesting, quirky talent, thus I really disagree with you Jark. Little Boots is coming off as the bland one. ;( Still adore Earthquake / Stuck on Repeat / New in Town though. Album doesn't that promising tbh though.
May 10, 200916 yr OH MY CHRIST. I've completely fallen in love with EVERYTHING this woman (plus godly Ben Langmaid obv) stands for. Just GAH at how good the video for Bulletproof is (Mondrian + Tron + With Every Heartbeat = OMG ) and the pure epicness of the second verse, lyrically as well as in the video...this must go to number one. For several weeks. WHY DID I NOT SEND THIS TO THE BJSC?! because you're MAD :o where and when did you both first discover La Roux incidentally out of interest!?! Quicksand won BJSC in December and Popjustice were covering her in September so that's at least three months before the contest, surprised nobody sent her to X or XI to be honest :o
May 10, 200916 yr This song doesn't win me over, at all =/ It's very good but nothing special, I prefer her when she's annoyingly high pitch like in the immense IFTK or when she's using some sort of voice adapter/vocoder/thingy in "Reflections Are Protection".. She should've re-released "Quicksand" instead of this or used the Caribbean-tinged "I'm Not Your Toy" <3 This songs verses are so WEAK, and the intro SO bland that not even the fantastic chorus can make up for it.. IFTK is much better and should've been no.1, this will likely go top 20/15, I think, and LOL @ "her stealing Little Boots's thunder".. I still haven't even got to listening to Little Boots in detail yet :o, mainly because I've got barely any interest in Little Boots because La Roux is so much more interesting, exciting and original.. I don't know how they're even in the same category, complete opposites tbh ..
May 10, 200916 yr I agree she does look like she's stepped in $h!t in the video, but the video is great. I love bulletproof, but not as much as Quicksand or In For The Kill tbh.

May 10, 200916 yr I knew her in late September/early October, foolishly didn't send her to XI and then had to wait ages until XII :smoke: 18th September 2008 perhaps? http://www.popjustice.com/index.php?option...56&Itemid=9
May 10, 200916 yr Who the hell cares when/who discovered her first? :/ Just because maybe you did doesn't mean you like SUCCEED in life. Hipsterrs lordi lordi lordi lolz. This is excellent  and will be another hit for her I reckon. 'Quicksand' is still my favourite from her though.
May 10, 200916 yr This songs verses are so WEAK, and the intro SO bland that not even the fantastic chorus can make up for it.. Seriously?! The verses on this song are what make it I'd say, the chorus is underwhelming.
May 10, 200916 yr 18th September 2008 perhaps? http://www.popjustice.com/index.php?option...56&Itemid=9 I think I noticed her on something like ArjanWrites or somewhere like that before then, but it was Popjustice that first brought her to my attention... And hey Ryan, they brought it I SERVED IT :smoke: I ain't no hipsterrrr ;o
May 11, 200916 yr La Roux are not original, it's 80's music with a little modern twist. I'd say they are the modern day Pet Shop Boys.
May 12, 200916 yr I first heard this song in a mates house the morning after a very drunken bbq. At this point it wasnt overly appreciated due to the already forming headache but i've heard it a couple of times since and really quite like it. Number 1 i think :)
June 8, 200916 yr Only just heard this recently and I love it, much better than In For The Kill. From the songs i've heard i'd rank them like this: 1. Bulletproof (best) 2. Quicksand 3. In For The Kill
June 10, 200916 yr This is her worst single so far IMHO, but still quite nice. Anyway: http://www.popjustice.com/images/stories/j/larouxbulletproofpicturedisc.jpg
