May 1, 200916 yr Even when they are blatantly at odds with one another..... I believe in contraception and birth control, people should not be getting pregnant, that is why I hate the catholic church so much and all they stand for, the priority should be stopping babies being conceived not killing off unborn babies that have done nothing wrong, I believe that unborn babies have a right to life, what needs to happen be it through education or maybe more extreme measures in some countries is the woman not getting pregnant in the first place My stance on contraception and birth control is totally on par with my comments about loss of life through swine flu

But, I'm afraid I totally disagree with you on abortion... As far as I'm concerned it's a woman's RIGHT to choose, end of story...
May 1, 200916 yr Where abouts in Australia are you family and friends Craig? Did you care much for the 100's of Aussies that perished in the Bushfires? They happened a week before i was due to leave and i felt their pain. I was in Melbourne a couple of months after and it's still a very touchy subject. Victoria is a small state by Australian standards, you'd either lived where this has happened, been there, or knew someone who lives/d there or had been there. I'm not quite understanding how as long as people you know aren't affected that you can ignore it. There have been so many nasty horrible tragedy's in even my lifetime surely you have to have felt something for those involved. I was about 12 when those planes hit the twin towers, i was f***ing shocked, angry at those that did it and felt so sorry for those involved. My uncle was supposed to be fixing an areal on the building next to the tower at the time. When i found out that he wasn't there, it made my mother calm down [ie no more tears] but i sure as hell felt for those involved. Even if i hadn't been going to Australia, i'd have still felt for the poor people of the state of Victoria and those in Queensland where 62% of the state was flooded and nobody really gave a $h!te. That's 3.2 times the area of Germany one quarter of the area covered by the European Union and 4.7 times the area of our own country. Do you feel anything about that amount of land flooding in Australia [QLD to be specific] or would one quarter of Europe make you care. Or would it actually take the UK flooding by 62% to give a $h!t?
May 1, 200916 yr I am old enough to remember Pol Pot's killing fields in Cambodia, i am old enough to remember Idi Amin's ethnic cleansing in Uganda, I am old enough to remember Chemical Ali killing 182,000 Kurds, I am old enough to remember the original African famine that spurred Bob Geldof into action, I am old enough to remember Rwanda, i am old enough to remember Milosevic's ethnic cleansing, do yoiu seriously expect me to take all those on my shoulders and grieve for every tragedy in the world ? I can't do it an d won't do it, I am merely adding the tsunami and swine flu to the list of things I just mentioned Now I'm really confused. I too am old enough to remember all the examples you give. I'm not old enough to remember the Holocaust but I'd like to think I would have been as appalled by that as I was about Pol Pot and Amin etc. Are you telling me I shouldn't have bothered?

Yeah by all means think "f*** me thats bad $h!t" thats how I felt seeing them but one can't carry the world's probs on one's shoulders and get absorbed emotionally, well least i can't Edited May 1, 200916 yr by B.A Baracus
