God talk about over-reacting. People's social and stereotype views are way off the mark here. Just because he's black and he raps doesn't mean that everyone who likes the song is a chav. I am not a chav and I like it? The fact is its just a catchy song and has been produced very well. For all you haterz (not that you will) I suggest you watch the video of him doing Bonkers at the Big Weekend event - the crowd went mad for it, as it would at any festival. And the highest percentage of people at live music events/festivals are not chavs trust me.

Listen, im not comparing their awards or 'critical acclaim' I am simply stating A FACT that chavs like them!!!!!

Nice spot. By extension, the whole top 7 are at least partly male (La Roux being a male-female duo) and there are only four females - Lady GaGa, Lily Allen, Elly from La Roux and Fergie - in the top 10, in comparison to 12 males - Dizzee Rascal, Armand Van Helden, Will.I.Am, Apl.De.Ap, Taboo, Alexander Rybak, Eminem, Daniel Merriweather, Ben from La Roux, Ironik, Chipmunk and Elton John.

 

However, if you count Charmagne Tripp, the female singer in We Made You, only the top 3 are all-male, which is not as impressive but it's still a 12:5 m:f ratio.

Chavs like loads of different music though I regularly hear La Roux and Lady GaGa played by chavs, doesn't mean their chav music though does it? Who cares if it does appeal to chavs, alot of it does and helps it sell well. It's such a stupid stereotype imo, I couldn't care less if it's 'chav music', I'd say the music branded as 'chav music' has been quite high this year; Tinchy Stryder, Black Eyed Peas and Dizzee are all fantastic imo!

I wonder how high Star Pilots will get. They could stay in the bottom quarter, or they could do the tedious slow climbs every update and gradually make their way up to the top 10 or so, like Dan M did.
