5th is amazing <3 I was shocked that we were even getting points tbh. A lot of people I was with were being most pessimistic.

I still don't get the point of the jury decision in each semi. Just put the Top 10 through - and if you're going to involve the juries in it do what they do in the final.

My top 4 were :

Ukraine, finland, Ireland & Malta which all get a place which they didnt deserve!

I thought Ukraine would've done a bit better tbh, certainly thought they'd be in three figures. Finland got what they deserved, awful live vocals...how on EARTH the juries put them through the semi-final is beyond me! Not surprised Ireland didn't qualify, though I do like the song and likewise with Malta - Chiara did a bit of a Charlotte Perrelli. :(

Highlight of the evening for me was finding all 3 versions of Et Cetera on Napster mobile, though it was a piece of luck as they're all titled "Et Cetera" - there's nothing to indicate the different versions!
Here's how I rated boys and girls: (can you tell I like eurodance much? :P)

01 Germany - I loved this. It was so gay and just proper catchy :D

02 Estonia - The eScala wannabees. Really spooky, but really likeable.

03 UK  I'll admit, I'd never heard the performance before. Bit of an X-Factor winner release song but it was amaze

04 Finland - Eurodance to the max

05 Azerbijan - Girl was stunning! Great song.

06 Ukraine - What Eurovision is all about. Proper slag and well flamboyant staging and dancers.

07 Greece - Bloke was quite hot. Catchy eurodance song.

08 Malta - I marked these down because they've used the fat bitch twice before. She was good though.

09 Albania - 17 y/o had an amazing vocal but the performance was weird.

10 Lithuania - Not trying to be anything it wasn't or OTT. Enjoyable performance.

11 Spain - Nice song. Not amazing.

12 Denmark - It was a really good song but I f***ing hate Ronan Keating to the max.

13 Turkey - Everyone loved this but I didn't think it was that good.

14 Armenia - Quite a good entertaining peformance, if not a bit gothic.

15 Romania - Nice, but forgettable.

16 Iceland - Once again, did really well but it was just forgettable.

17 Norway :puke2: Younger version of Colin Farrell. Completely annoying and totally didn't deserve to win.

18 Sweden - Good vocal but f***ing boring.

19 Moldova - WTF  I just didn't get it. Awful costumes aswell.

20 Croatia - There was just loads of 'moaning'. Completely pointless.

21 B&H - Good with insruments, but boring as.

22 Portugal - This was well gay but not catchy and just f***ing boring. And the girl was fat.

23 Israel - Boring.

24 France - The Celine Dion wannabee. Boring and what is the point of having someone who's massive over Europe? Just desperate to get votes as they've done $h!t recently.

25 Russia - That girl where her face aged. $h!t vocal. $h!t performance and just bloody irritating!

Mwah x

I actually laughed very much at most of these points!

Celine Dion wannabe?! I think first you need to find who is the wannabe of whom ;p

Portuguese song was gay!

Armenia - gothic

And Moldova was the most ethnic song in the bunch tbh.

I'm sorry but i couldn't just help pointing these out.

I know :kink: They weren't even top 10 before :P

Iceland is my winner and my favourite song so far this year.

But if it had to be beaten by someone, i'm glad it was Norway.

and just  @ the political/neighbour crap

I agree TiP should post drunk more often

and Rich, Mira and Maria should host ESC 2010. A special edition of LL :kink:

I Studied the votes a lot.. seeing some neighbouring and Malta shoul have gotten at least the 17th place. If Belgium gave points in the same way in the final (not only belgium but lots of more countries) Malta ould have gotten 10th place easily. Israel got less points from Belgium in the semi-final than Armenia, Iceland, Sweden, Portugal and Malta but votes changed and some countries went up and some went down (same performance though)
Cyprus giving 0 to Greece was the biggest surprise for me...

:manson:

Your entry wasn't anywhere near good enough

$h!t song = $h!t placing. Good song = good placing

I thin the UK proved that pretty well last night.

You deservedly flopped. Get over it.

Cyprus giving 0 to Greece was the biggest surprise for me...

ur wrong. Cyprus gave 12 to Greece! and 0 to Turkey!

Iceland should have won though!

Malta should quit ESC. Fairly : Malta should have won 2 ESC which are 2002 and 1998!

get over it!

it's like she sang the same song all 3 times

send something fresh and new next year please!

don't be bad losers and go on OH WE"LL QUIT! it's childish!

I was so happy when I realised that Maria would almost certainly end up hosting in Oslo  Mira though too would be EPIC! :o

Anyway, as amusing as it is to notice that the morons still come out to play even though we did well (geremija, Chiara was awful compared to her two prior entries. And no way in hell should Malta have won 1998, but I will give you 2002 :P; James, you're frankly talking out of your arse if you're saying the thing was a fix - in what way? 36 out of 41 countries give Norway at least 8 points, and the other five give them points lower than that...you can't at all say that it was neighbourly for the Scandinavian countries, and it was representative of the traditional sound there anyway :manson:), time for my thoughts!

Having, like Rich, dismissed this as an average year about a month ago, I can now with no reservations say that this is the greatest contest that we have probably ever seen...an essentially perfect top 10, with some fantastic shocks in there (Estonia! France! ICELAND!) that even my most optimistic self had never predicted. It was stunningly refreshing to see such a show of good taste from the European public! Having been jaded by overplay, Norway were definitely very deserving runaway victors - and to be fair, the voting was still exciting for us! :P Even though we came fifth, we have to remember that only the very optimistic were predicting top 5 before yesterday, and most people predicted top 10 - I'll take a very safe 5th place anyday, even though we were 2nd early on! It was rather fantastic seeing big votes from countries that weren't Ireland or Malta for once! :dancing:

In any case, this year is a COMPLETE vindication of my case. The dilution of neighbourly voting was hideously obvious (too many times last night I predicted big points for a neighbour only to notice that they'd already given that neighbour a 4! And then they often went on to give an 8 or so to Norway or the UK...), and quite frankly all the haters can just shut up. A great song can do well, and it is very very definitely a song contest, as Ukraine's shocking flop shows! (Poor Svetlana!). A perfect night for the contest and for the UK, Iceland and Norway!

It so would

Did i not say Iceland win/top3 before hand  :kink:

2 flawless performances, and by far the best ballad/track in my eyes. I'm going to have to raid Google for her album :kink:

In 2002 It was not Chiara but Ira Losco... stupid moron!

And anyways, how can we win when we had to win 2 times and due to unfairness we did not! We do not have any chance due to Neighbours and diaspora!

And except for Chiara, we have noone good that tries to enter ESC ...
