I think the 1100th number 1 will be wrapped up quickly with Guetta/Ropwland 1098 next week, La Roux 1099 the week after and JLS 1100 when they come out.

In the past we've been quite inaccurate at predicting far out so I'll leave that. What does seem unlikely although several have predicted it is Ladya Gaga being #1, that seems most unlikely imo.
Not strictly on topic but ... someone mentioned a descrepancy in counting how many number 1 albums because of Leona's deluxe version of Spirit. If i understand correctly Deluxe/Reloaded or similar albums are handled separately and given separate chart positions in the weekly chart to the regular version. As such it IS a separate number 1 by the chart rules.

That used to be the case but the rules have now changed and both versions of Spirit are combined

Yes, The OCC add the Sales of the 'Deluxe' 'Back To Black', to those of the Original version.

They do the same for 'Rockferry' by Duffy', & 'Spirit' by Leona Lewis.

So, they regard 'Spirit' being No.1 in both November 2007, & November 2008, as the SAME

Album being No.1. They don't give the November 2008 No.1 a Number - they call it a 'Re', (Return), to No.1.

However, they have given the 'Deluxe' 'Black To Black', the status of the 798th No.1, in 2007, &

the 836th No.1, ('Deluxe' version), in 2008. This is despite them combining the Sales of the 2 versions.

Someone suggested, to me, that they are treating the 2 versions of 'Back To Black', as 2 different

No.1 Albums, because both versions were in the Top 75 at the same time - so they were taking up

2 sets of Chart places, in the same Album Charts.

And, 'Gold', by ABBA, is given the status of the 461st No.1 Album in 1992, but, also the 849th No.1

in 2008. This is wrong - the only difference between the 2 versions was the Cover & Sleevenotes - the

19 Tracks are the same. So, 'Gold' going back to No.1 in 2008, should be a 'Re' - not given 849th No.1

Album status.....(In 1999, The OCC - correctly - regarded the 3 times that 'Gold' got to No.1 that Year,

as 'Re' - and it was not Numbered).

Albums are quite a bit behind singles. Two reasons: Albums tend to hang on longer than singles and also there was no seperate album chart until 1960 whereas singles charts started in 1952.

Until March 1960 when the NME chart was the official chart, if albums sold enough they were incorporated into the singles charts as were EPs.

The OCC - and UK Chart Books - regard the UK Album Chart as having started on the

W/E 28th July 1956. The 'Melody Maker' Charts are used from that period. And, I think that

the 'Record Retailer' Album Charts are used from March 1960 onwards - W/E March 10th,

I think it was. So - UK Album Chart Data, & Statistics, go back to July 1956.

Er no, it will probably be #1 :P
Eoghan Quigg... and JLS was nothing special, just like those other abominations in that X Factor final... you really think JLS will beat Kelly Rowland to get #1 for a 2nd and 3rd week?

I do. I'm guessing you don't live in the UK? JLS are receiving massive amounts of airplay.

I think JLS have a very good chance of getting to number 1 too - they are getting really goood radio play (for a reality tv act), they have an inbuild fanbase from the show and seem to have quite a bit of support

I'd be surprised if they didn't get it tbh

I'd say...

1098 David Guetta Feat. Kelly Rowland When Love Take Over 1 week

1099 La Roux Bulletproof 3 weeks

1100 Chicane Popiholla 1 week

1101 Mr Hudson Feat. Kanye West Supernova 11 weeks

1100 Chicane Popiholla 1 week

1101 Mr Hudson Feat. Kanye West Supernova 11 weeks

Just the suggestion that either of these could happen is laughable tbh. :P

I hope Cascada don't get it. One reason only Everytime We Touch made no.2 and for me this would be wrong as it be higher than the awesome EWT as its not as good as EWT and EWT is my favourite of theirs EVERRR

I'm ok with either but I prefer Beat Again.

My money would be on JLS getting it.
