If A MJ Song goes to No.1 - that has been No.1 before - it WILL count as the 1,100th No.1

Single. (If that is when it happens). You should look at how it has worked before:,

The OCC, Everyhit.com, & UK Chart Books clearly have:,

ELVIS PRESLEY

1) 'Jailhouse Rock' as the 67th No.1 in 1958, & the 999th in 2005

2) 'One Night' as the 80th No.1 in 1959, & the 1000th in 2005

3) 'It's Now Or Never' as the 109th No.1 in 1960, & the 1002nd in 2005

GEORGE HARRISON

4) 'My Sweet Lord' as the 296th No.1 in 1971, & the 918th in 2002

So, any Singles, that re-enter the Charts - Years later - and get back to No.1,

are given a Number. Which means they are recognised as a new No.1. It does not

matter if some people don't agree with that - it is how it is done.

But the difference here is that those came out during a time in which physicals were dominant and they were clear re-releases of those songs. None of these MJ songs have been re-released so they technically count as the original.

However, MJ DID re-release most of his songs back in 2006 and none of those made no.1. Perhaps if, say, Billie Jean reached no.1 this year, it would count towards the re-release, not the original version, and become a 'new' no.1.

Besides the only Jacko hit likely to top is MITM which never was no.1 therefore would count.

Anyway, it's now fairly clear that the 1,100th number 1 will, as some suspected, be Cascada. =|

I shouldn`t worry too much. It`s not really the 1100th #1 anyway. The charts Guiness use for the 50s & 60s are rubbish, and didn`t even count then. If you wanted a true count of Official #1 Singles in Britain, you`d have to start on 15th Feb 1969...before that, there was no "Official" chart.
