If Kelly Clarkson had such a large hardcore fanbase like Ethan claims then IDNHU would hold up well in the charts like a 3rd single from a Girls Aloud album always does.

Exactly Max Martin / Dr Luke have the fanbase... :P

Max Martin/Dr Luke’s fanbase. ;)

Yeah right. Of course that is why this comeback single my a 1980s legend was such a "gigantic" hit even though I personally think this is the best thing Max Martin has have done.

Which failed in the charts despite significant promotion by the artist in question.

Cyndi Lauper - Into The Nightlife (2008 USA#116; UK#168)

the only reason it was number one was because of low sales.

True. :)

Kelly should have gone with 'Don't Let Me Stop You' as second single :(

Are you mad? As if that would be doing any better.

I'd have gone with 'Already Gone' personally, ballads usually sell the album more and 'I Do Not Hook Up' whilst being a good song is fairly generic, and quite similar to it's predecessor.

Lucky 'Already Gone' is the next single then (Apparently) but wouldn't people be thinking it's too much like 'Halo' at the moment? Which is probably why they held it back in the first place. ;) 'Don't Let Me Stop You' is immense though and NEEDS to be a single :(

It's a bit of a double edged sword when you put it like that, but I still think 'Already Gone' would have been the wiser choice for second, 'Hook Up' could have been saved for later.

Oooh one of by top three favourite singles of 2008.

Well there was a lack of radio support, which is kind of important. If Into The Nightlife had been released by one of his usual twenty-something clientele I wager it would have performed better.

nor Cry is better than Save You, it should have gone

Cry

If I Can't Have You

If it was a clone as you stated then it would perform as well regardless of the producer... the public don't think "Ooh, Dr Luke, must buy!".

It’s generic not a carbon copy clone…

Juggernauts is #24 now.

I was aware ES usually have problems with charting, but I figured what with its airplay on R1 and the fact it is absolutely brilliant (imo :P) this would be a hit anyway.

I was right. :D

Just posting this to break the post chain of Kelly related posts.

C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!

Already Gone third single? Ohh noooo :(
NOT official (Yet) but is heavily rumoured! I really wouldn't be surprised if it was confirmed though

They'd be incredibly foolish to go with anything else, quite frankly.

^It is official  Kelly says it whenever she performs or talks about the song lol

"No" for 'Whyyawannabringmedown'.

Either 'Cry' or 'If I Can't...' will be a decent choice. ;)
