very few songs have actually suffered backlashes on BJSC...the songs that are expected to do well that don't are generally those that have actually only been hyped by one or two people whilst others don't see the love, a la Love Etc, Headhunted, Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer, Love Story...I've seen more than a few negative comments about all four of these songs on this forum

I am yet to see a negative comment about Never Leave You, it seems to appeal to nearly everyone :o therefore, anything lower than top 3 in the final would be a huge shock

You can add YMYB to that list :(

It hasn't had any criticism, but i'm hoping BJSC does the right thing for once and boycotts it. I sure as hell will be. Epic track or not.

Not because i'm being petty about Amelle being or whatever, but mainly because one, it's about to be the hit of the summer. It would be like sending Umberella after it's first play. Two, if this wins it just proves TiP right. Mining the release schedule wins. It shouldn't and going for the most obvious and cheapest song on the list is not what this contest is about, and never has been.

This contest is primarily about discovering new music in quite a fun way. While success is nice, it should not be the sole aim. IMO it shouldn't be an aim. There would be no better way to kill off this release schedule mining bull$h!te than to kill Never Leave You at the semi stage. It would be the most undeserving BJSC winner imo and if it succeeds whats to stop people entering the cheapest thing they can find on the schedule for future contests? There will be the attitude of 'well Tinchy won.....'

Which would be just horrific for the contest.

Now that i've secured my DNQ i might start listening to the songs to avoid the deduction. 0 and a deduction would not look good -_-

I always try do find an alternative version on youtube but this time I can't find any, so I might skip now this song, but if I can't find later a proper video or just to listen to, I will not vote for that which is a shame because of that f***ed up YouTube :(

What is a proxy?

and how do you use it?

(just never done this; so don't think less technological of me B) )

There is a site where you can watch these blocked youtube videos but I don't know how it works aither.

Nothing on Dailymotion either :(

You're far too clever for your own good! :P

@ Rich - Who would ever even think a negative though about HBMMAD?! Let alone write it!! :o

Jonjo for one :o

Proxy site I used to watch vids with now only allow 8MB or so to load and the rest is cut off

That's an advantages of future-number-one entry to BJSC :kink:

Not A Love Song managed to overcome the odds winning despite not being on the release schedule and being unknown to most people, and that was only 3 contests ago in the 'cheap contest' so hopefully something can overcome Tinchy here, not because I don't like the track by any means, just because it's a shame to see most of the BJSC top 5 finishers recently being songs that are on the verge of being released, often by well known artists, or at least partially hyped artists

Obviously, 90% of the entries this month are unknown to me, so I have no problems at the moment, but it is a shame that more of these aren't doing well...I thought there were tons of better unknown songs last month than those that ended up in the top 3 :o

Jonjo for one :o

I didn't notice Tom's post :o ME TOO. The song is not original or appealing to me, I can't remember anything about it apart from the phrase which is the name of the song

I even thought it's a mash-up or a cover first time hearing it  :(

Listenin to the SF1 recap its a tough semi. Some really good tracks, but it is very indie. I could have done with being in the other semi with the pop vote and my fellow Cilmiloon Kath.

It's gonna be hard for anythin to qualify outta that, i can easily see myself DNQing again.

Oh wells, as long as it's liked by a few people ^_^

I was shocked/delighted when Alex came top5 last time and was the highest non-release schedule mine. Although it's now on there, that's down to me discovering it's actually getting a release an tellin MK a few days after the final.

It can be done!!!! [if success is your goal -_-]

And NALS is epic

it's not a highlight of either act's career for me...it's a good song and I like it a fair bit but it's hardly up there with Love On My Mind, Uninvited, Murder On The Dancefloor, Groovejet and Catch You :( in the context of BJSC, it was a very good entry and I was surprised it flopped here, but in the context of 2009 dance (which is very strong at the moment in my opinion) it doesn't seem to have quite the same impact

most unexpected winner ever though? it had NO hype whatsover and I thought it was destined for the bottom ten...the fact that it managed to overcome September, The Veronicas, Enrique and Ciara, Noisettes, Lady Sovereign, VV Brown, Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift was a proud achievement for FSR Rontvia, I had practically given up on the song up against that competition!!! Looking back at the insane release list domination of the top ten that month, it really puts into perspective how well Dalisska actually did in that contest to squeeze Emenne-Moi into the top ten :o

What's the link for Tom's song again?

It was hardcore RSM that month. I slightly contributed with Lily Allen, but in all fairness i confirmed on crappy pc with a minky sweaty keyboard in Singapore airport, i had no idea how cheap the contest was when i confirmed Lily.

What's the link for Tom's song again?

just click Kingdom of Shadow instead of the song name ;)
