June 16, 200916 yr Without doubt for me this was the most enjoyable contest I've competed in. A great winner; in fact four brilliant songs in the top 5 (and Pixie :kink:) A tight final contest with a cliff hanging ending. What more could you want. You gave Pixie 6 points in the final :smoke: Jrk-Off gave her 7! Now you both seem to hate her :( This is why I always send unknown artists, people vote purely on the merit of the song as they have no preconceptions about the artist... Now Pixie has been outed as a manufactured teeny bopper, I doubt she will ever have the same appeal or BJSC potential as when she was anonymous :snif:

Now Pixie has been outed as a manufactured teeny bopper, I doubt she will ever have the same appeal or BJSC potential as when she was anonymous :snif: Hence the :kink: I don't like being duped. I can handle "here is a manufactured pop star, but isn't it a great record (ie: Britney, Girls Aloud, etc)", but I don't like dishonesty. Hence I'm hugely critical of Britney miming on tour, even though I think the records are great. She was supposed to be some highly credible artist from the early hype around her; and whilst she can certainly hold a tune, she is basically Billie Piper ten years on doing white bread Amy Winehouse impressions. I'd much rather listen to the superior Gabriella Cilmi.
June 17, 200916 yr Well it certainly wasn't me being dishonest :o until about 3 months ago I was none the wiser, as far as I knew she was another random MySpace find with no hope of any commercial success. I certainly wasn't trying to disguise the hype, I literally knew nothing more about her than anyone else did! Manufactured or not though, I still think she's great! How credible somebody is has no impact on my feelings of an artist or a song, hence why I adore Little Boots' album despite the obvious pandering to record company demands.
June 17, 200916 yr I couldn't care less about an artists background or whatever. My policy is, if I love the song then it's going to get points.....it's just not right leaving out a song for any reason other than not liking it.
June 17, 200916 yr Considering every aspect of a song/artist, right down to their life story or the authenticity of the production of a record etc...before deciding whether or not you like a song/artist, seems like a very laborious way of listening to music in my opinion, and would completely ruin my love for a lot of music, seeing as I like a lot of cheesy manufactured tat :kink: still, if I enjoy it, that's the main thing, and infact the only thing that matters...for all I care, Cliff Richard could come out with a club stormer later in the year, and if I loved it, it would top my personal chart, simple as that, even though I can't stand the man and everything about him :heehee: It reminds me of Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry. I think she's a horrendous woman usually, and all of her other solo material is appalling, but something struck me about that song and it became my summer anthem of 2007
September 2, 200915 yr even I can barely remember I-III  too busy with my dissertations at the time :drama:
September 2, 200915 yr Author flashbaxx DEUX will make its shocking premiere at some point in the next two weeks ;o

September 4, 200915 yr Author I hadn't actually :smoke: I was planning another for when I had time... My next thread will be one of the more forgotten finals, but will still be post-Untouched.
September 4, 200915 yr BJSC XIV represents the beginning of my 3 DNQ's in a row. Alanis, Au Revoir Simone, then Halou.
