I think as long as Work sells 60k+ it should be alright ^_^ it is the 5th single afterall :)

'Work' is definitely miles and miles better than 'Issues' and 'Just Can't Get Enough' I'd say, and also better than 'If This Is Love', but doesn't top 'Up'. I think it'll still safely get top 20, which is okay enough.

I did say people were dreaming when they were claiming that it was in with a chance of #1 though!

Mini update

#1 Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror

#2 La Roux - Bulletproof

#3 Cascada - Evacuate The Dancefloor

#12 Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal

#14 Michael Jackson - Billie Jean

#16 Michael Jackson - Beat It

#20 Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana

#21 Michael Jackson - Black Or White

#34 Michael Jackson - Earth Song

#35 Jackson 5 - I Want You Back

#36 Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel

#37 Michael Jackson - You Are Not Alone

#38 Michael Jackson - Thriller

#76 Pendulum - Propane Nightmares

#90 Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run

#102 Blur - Song 2

#173 Blur - The Universal

#200 Blur - Girls and Boys

#219 Blur - Parklife

#226 Madness - It Must Be Love

#264 Oasis - Wonderwall

omg Michael Jackson over La Roux!!?!?!??!!! this is an outrage!
With more MJ tracks appearing, chart music will suffer this week, Saturdays could go either way
When La roux 15 mins up. MJ legacy will outshine.
Bulletproof is catching up with The Man in the Mirror and Cascada is catching up both of them. I predict in the next couple of days we will have Cascada at number 1, La Roux at number 2 and MITM at number 3.

Oh do be quiet with your 'predictions'. Is Cascada IS No 1 I will personally hold you and your jinxed fortune telling responsible for this travesty of chart justice.... ;)

If Cascada beats Man In The Mirror, I propose EXECUTING those who downloaded Evacuate The Dancefloor.
If you think this outpouring of grief/support/affection/celebration for Michael Jackson is over the top then you're sadly uneducated in the just how much this man achieved through his career. Granted, the last few years weren't all that, but from the 60s to the 90s he was THE MAN. Don't forget, he transcended the colour barrier, achieveing the largest non-white success across the world. He crossed international borders far more than the Beatles or Elvis did while they were alive. His career sales are astronomical (up to 750 million) and his charitable work unforgettable - he donated a check for $100million to a charity in the late 80s. that's $100million of his own money. People bleet on about Bono and how charitable he is, but he was nothing in comparison to Mike.

I'm sorry, but I'm delighted at the amount of support I have seen across the world after his death and believe he deserves it 100%.

RIP Michael Jackson.

P.S I agree about Cascada. Man In the Mirror has been my favourite MJ track for years, so I'm glad people have taken to it in the way they have,.

Erm, yeah let's forget all the REST of it that you forget to mention in your post, all the controversy.

And to be honest, if anybody was grieved for in this way, I'd say it was OTT. Yes it's sad, but millions of people die every day, we don't go all gaga for every one of them do we? So he could sing and dance well. So what in the grand scheme of things?

 How drastic!

But yes u're right

Okay, I'll hack into I-tunes and find out their home addresses, you get busy sharpening that axe. Deal? ^_^

A possible reason why the radio mix of The Saturdays "Work" isn't selling, is that if you search for saturday work in UK iTunes, the 2 albums on top are:

  • Chasing Lights (Bonus Track Version)
  • Work - Single
If you click on the The Saturdays link under the 'Chasing Lights' album, you're taken to a page of the Sats singles, etc.

If you click on the The Saturdays link under 'Work - Single', you're taken to the 'Adult Alternative' group who are also called 'The Saturdays'

Thanks Shoat for writing exactly what I'm feeling. I really cannot forget the rest of it, the controversy.

On the Cascada issue, I heard Jo Whiley play Evacuate the Dancefloor recently and it wasn't all that awful. Certainly better than Everytime We Touch and What Hurts The Most.

Well it's a good job I haven't "downloaded" it and bought the CD Single instead then :kink:

I personally think 'Man In The Mirror' has the number 1 spot secured for this coming Sunday. With 4 (??) entries inside the Top 100 iTunes and two or three more lingering in the 200 area, surely that's enough to put him ahead of the other "competition"

ANYWAYS, I'm kinda torn about Sunday really. I really want Cascada to get their first number 1 and I would like it to be a NEW song at number 1 rather than an older song. However, I do want MJ to have the number 1 with 'Man In The Mirror' as it is by far his best IMO and did not deserve to peak at 21 originally and deserves a number 1 peak.

(HOPEFULLY all the above made SOME sort of sense to ya ha!)

well maybe MJ will be #1 this week and Cascada next week, then you'll be 100% pleased :P
I most definately would :P But I know it won't happen :(

What ARE the major releases to download next week? Are JLS releasing or is that the weekend after?
