And what a mighty return it is, with 'Supermassive Black Hole' combining elements of sleazy glamrock-dance (last championed by Goldfrapp) with a crunching guitar hook similar to Britney Spears' 'Do Somethin' (yes, really!), all welded on to infectious grooveride of creepy vocal harmonies and dancefloor beats that could finally deliver the band the crossover hit they hinted on with their last album 'Absolution'. June 25, 200620 yr Author 3 (02) Sandi Thom - I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876849532.JPG [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr9rMqkG9h0.swf The girl that webcast from her basement in Tooting to thousands of people across the globe now releases her debut single 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)'. The subsequent buzz saw her become the first high profile signing by Craig Logan as he steps into his position at the head of the newly re-launched RCA label. Following the success of artists like KT Tunstall, Sandi should do well with her fairly unique mix of powerful, rootsy, soulful vocals and sparse instrumentation, consisting of only percussion and drums. – HMV track listing 1.
