June 30, 200916 yr I think that's a fine idea. I was frankly a bit scared of BJSC at first, I joined BJ about this time last year, but not BJSC until XIV. It was too large and confusing. So I don't understand how someone could come in and get the hang of it just like that. Makes sense to me
June 30, 200916 yr Great idea. That can reduce amount of countries being able to participate at this point. Can I ask though, what will happen to the countries that have not been participating for months?
June 30, 200916 yr Nothing as far as i am aware. This needed to be done, we are far to open to aliases as Liam has proved twice. I'd like to thank someone for bringing this to my attention and allowing us to sort it out. They know who they are ;) but thank you again.
June 30, 200916 yr Good idea, but just to be clear, countries that are participating in this contest who have only been members for a few weeks would still be allowed to participate in the next contest?
July 1, 200916 yr Great idea! :D And why would Liam not leave us alone?! LOL I guess it goes to show how good this competition is! ^_^
July 1, 200916 yr Yeah, global mods etc. already know  ANYWAY, for the moderately important announcement. We at the BJSC regret having to take such a measure as this, but given several factors, we have decided to place a three-month restriction on participation in the contest. By this, we mean that, in order to participate, as of XIX, people who have not been members of BuzzJack for at least three months will not be permitted to participate in the BJSC. This does not apply to anybody who participates in XVIII. Our reasons for taking this decision are primarily twofold. Firstly, under the current system aliases are fairly easy to set up within the contest - for this reason, NinaNoo, an alias of Liam (a.k.a. Fortunia, who are currently permabanned from participation in the contest), has been expelled from the contest - and fairly hard to track (there is solid proof that NinaNoo is an alias of Liam, despite having a different e-mail address and IP), therefore we hope that this measure will repel all but the saddest of potential aliases, in combination with the waiting list proposal which we hope to implement when necessary. Given that far more often than not people who join up almost immediately upon joining BuzzJack have tended to be aliases, this measure makes a lot of sense. Secondly, the contest is currently at risk of growing too large for its own good, and it is only serving to make it more and more overcrowded by allowing people to just join up as soon as they join the forum, which also can potentially lead to abandonment - i.e. someone joining up on impulse and then completely forgetting about the contest. By requiring three months to demonstrate that the potential contestant has a commitment to BuzzJack, we eliminate the potential for 'dead' countries, as well as those who will likely provide more activity for the forum rather than just those who would dip in and out of the contest only to vote etc. :P I hope there aren't many objections to this proposal? We wish to stress that, in cases where we can see that neither of these problems are likely (for example, Deandria joined up fairly immediately as a friend of Dalisska and have gone on to become active members of the community as well as not being aliases :P) we will permit participation, however this will probably be rare and only occur in cases where friends are joining up and we can see that they obviously aren't just aliases - I'm thinking of Torchwood/JRK-off here, or Dalisska/Deandria ^_^ Not permabanned, just till August 13th. Unless you mean the contest it's self, in which case, oops. Lmao! Who snitched? Or am I just stupid (Don't answer that :P) Hey everyone!
July 1, 200916 yr Just do not put your insults in the signature, okay? It made me sad last time :snif:

It was too large and confusing. So I don't understand how someone could come in and get the hang of it just like that. Makes sense to me That's exactly what I did, I found this forum when I was searching for the eurovision song contest on google. I looked everywhere on the site, I really wasn't sure of it at first but I figured I'd just go for it and see what happened, even though I hadn't really a clue what was going to happen. I read the rules and that kinda helped, but it was the experience of actually taking part that helped me learn the most, so I'm glad I started straight away. Edited July 1, 200916 yr by Sabrewulf238
July 1, 200916 yr Sorry everyone. I'm not a bast*rd anymore though (maybe deep down inside locked in a dungeon in my heart - you won't see it again, unless you p*** me off) And yep - I didn't think anyone would guess me as Nina. I weren't coming back until I got so damn bored and Erik convinced me! Edited July 1, 200916 yr by NinaNoo
