Posted July 14, 200916 yr Katy Perry says the follow up to her debut album One of the Boys will be a more grown up affair. It's been non-stop for Katy Perry since her arrival on the pop scene last year. While she wraps a few more festivals in Europe her attention is now turning to her next record. She told Newsbeat: "I'm looking to make a record that's more honest and it's going to be different. "I'm not trying to alienate my fans necessarily but One of the Boys was written from 17 to 23 and now I'm 24 so my perspective on life has changed." It's been a non-stop round of gigs and promoting material for Katy and she's looking forward to a bit of a break. She said: "I've just been going, going, going. I started this whole thing in May 2008. I'm going to take a couple of weeks break in September." Emotional side "I definitely need to recharge and I'm starting my new record in October. I'm so excited, I'm like a volcano. I'm ready to explode - literally." Katy says her experiences of the past year won't be reflected in her writing though. "I'm not looking to make a record about: 'Hey, I got famous this year and you didn't... blah blah blah. This relates nothing to you'," she said. "It might be emotional but I don't think it's going to be sad emotional. It's just going to be completely packed with what you want to hear about what I think. "Everyone asks me: 'What do you think about this? What do you think about that? And about this person?' July 14, 200916 yr Her album was alright but shes so damn annoying and seems kind of irrelevant now, Lady Gaga replaced her as like the new hot female singer so quickly that she just seems pointless now...to me at least.
July 14, 200916 yr Her album didnt get as much appreciation as it deserved IMO. It was quite good, Thinking Of You wasnt a good choice of third single though (as much as i love it)
July 14, 200916 yr I hope this album will have a more sophisticated sound overall, as opposed to the majority of the album tracks from One Of The Boys sounding like Hilary Duff rejects from the early part of her career.
