Speculation about above clip so i'll spoiler it just in case!

It seems quite a few people now think that the Doctor is going back over his own timeline to correct something, and point out this as the biggest hint yet. The way the Doctor is all loud and 'Amy later!', sleeves down, then comes back moments later sleeves up, with his jacket back on, in a completely different tone, all soft and gentle, watching over his shoulder to see if anyone (mostly himself) isn't coming back. Also people are linking the shadowy figure in The Eleventh Hour, could be the Doctor, the Timelord covering their face in The End Of Time, and the light coming on, on the top of the buidling in Victory of The Daleks, as a potential TARDIS. The other bits maybe a load of dribble, but I think this Flesh and Stone thing holds something to it. As slow as painful this series started off, it's starting to grip me over what is going on, what causes the boom in June, the cracks, the Pandorica and all. I think the Moffatt is going to blow us all away by the end of the Series.

I've been following that theory for few days now Matt and think it is one of the best right now!

I never believed that final scene with Amelia in TEH seeing the tardis arrive back was just a dream which prompted Amy to then wake up...

It's getting me more excited for what's to come now, I've been following it on Gallifrey Base since the latest ep aired now :D

Wow I didn't notice he had his jacked back on! Must be what you said.

Also, what do you think of the pond not having any ducks and do you think it has something to do with Amy's surname? I don't think it's only a coincidence.

Bloody hell, so many things i didn't notice! :o

Final ratings for The Time Of Angels: 8.59m [8.13m + 0.46m on HD]

Easily the highest rated 'episode 4' since DW returned :)

LOL, I didn't know it was shown on that particular ending scene

I agree with Mushy that there do appear to be continuity issues with the angels. I thought it was silly that they moved so slowly when trying to get Amy yet they are supposed to move much further distances in the blink of an eye. Talking of blinking, I really thought that Matt Smith blinked when one of the angels had it's arm around that guy's neck which should have been enough time to finish him off!

Also the way that they attack has fundamentally changed, I never really understood why people were sent back in time last time around but this time they just killed people. I also felt that the setting of the ship didn't suit the enemies as well as the temple did, they seemed too detached from the surrounding environment for my liking and it lost a lot of the impact for me.[/moan]

That said, I did enjoy both parts on the whole and it certainly was a step up from the previous episodes. Amy Pond is particularly likeable and she is definitely the highlight of the series to date.

edit... one final groan... I didn't like the way they changed the rules regarding when they can move. One of the main things in Blink was that the Angels always covered their eyes because they couldn't move when in the line of sight of any of the other angels either (hence how they were trapped as stone at the end of the Sally Sparrow episode when the Tardis transported) yet in this two parter the angels were consistently frozen with their faces in view and other angels in their line of sight. I know it probably sounds like nitpicking but the rules regarding when the Angels could move were primarily what made them scary in the first place yet they were really diluted here. :(

From how I understand it they took you out of time to feed on your potential energy but because the spacecraft's radiation had so much they could feed enough off that and didn't need the humans so better to kill them to allow movement and prevent them being stopped.

As for the Doctor blinking I feel it was so obvious it's either signifigant or an example of the worst kind of continuity error ever. You could possibly argue that the bishop could see part of the angel from the corner of his eye but thats clutching at straws.

Moving slowly? Possibly because they were weak and lacking in strength? Hmmm, dunno.

No ideas on the angels moving when seeing each other though. Seems dodgy and at odds with the previous Blink episode.

Mind you how would they breed if they can't look at each other?

Thanks for the response Severin, I completely missed the explanation as to why they were killing them so it's handy to have the reason posted.

Perhaps the blinking was indeed deliberate, you would think that the one they would check is that none of the main characters blinked at times that they shouldn't.

I think the rest of it was probably just inconsistencies, however I did still enjoy it so it doesn't matter too much.

So much better than the previous episodes... sexy vampires :heehee: I really enjoyed that episode 8/10, the only drawback was the Dr. jumping out of the cake, I thought that was kinda a bit lame-ish.

And the flicking off the switch just made it laughable  at the end, all it took was to turn the switch off how simple was that. Hilarious

Tonight's episode started brilliantly. I loved the serious intro, and I laughed out loud at the Dr in the stripogram cake embarrassing moment.

Rory as a character is a comedy genius; and I loved the gag about Casanova (which actor played him in the 21st century BBC adaptation. :kink:); and another nod to the very first Doctor.

But like the Dalek episode, after a very good start it failed to deliver on its early promise, and as a whole the episode was like Kafka meets Twilight meets a Scooby Doo adventure.

I'm definitely getting on the wave length of this Doctor's personality and his humour is now hitting the mark, but as an actor I don't believe he has the screen presence of the previous two actors in this role.

7/10

I think Matt Smith is absolutely brilliant and that was the best one-parter so far. I thought only the simple solution let it down slightly, but then the solution is often simple in Doctor Who (the absolute WORST being in the dalek episode). This proved one part episodes can still be done very well.

A quality episode after a fantasic two-parter.

Matt Smith again, not possible to fault IMO. Love his serious moments, comic ability and he always has such great on-screen chemistry with everyone.

Helen McCrory - well, as excellent as I could have hoped.

No escaping the cracks  but nice to hear more about 'the silence'.

Next week looks rather interesting! Leadworth really is the village that time forgot!

I posted it many many pages ago ;)

Well I thought it was a fairly weak episode if I'm honest, definatley the second worst of the series so far... It was just a bit boring and predictable, hopefully next week will be back on form!

5/10

My only fault was the graphics tbh. Rather noticeably terrible this week but it's Doctor Who - $h!t graphics are part of the shows history :P

Thought tonight's episode was wonderful and full of humour ... 'Did you kiss her back?' 'No, I kissed her mouth.' was so funny. Plus, I love how Matt Smith's doctor is so ill at ease with women - he used the word buxom!! Refreshing change from David Tennent - I could have sworn it was in his contract he got to snog any famous female actress on the show.

Next week's episode looks interesting - wonder if it'll be similar to The Mind Robber? Interested in finding out who the Dream Lord is.

Did the first doctor visit Venice?
