Agreed the best episode of the series, Matt's Doctor is really starting to come through now, Amy is a fantastic companion but I wasn't too sure about River in this ep. There was one line when the Doctor said something about time not stopping him which I think is a big hint of what is to come as it's a carry over from Davids era. I'll give the e 9/10.

Wow, this week's episode knocked last week's in the crotch. That was A LOT better. Plenty of action and drama, great monster in the Weeping Angels, got to be the scariest yet. And i think the Riversong character is excellent, a lot of mystery there and well acted by Alex Kingston.

It's good they made this a 2-parter. I think it needed it.

I'll give this week's episode 10/10.

Really enjoyed the episode, as per usual (:kink:) But I thought that Karen Gillan was particularly good in this episode. I think she's shaping up to be my favourite companion ever tbh  And Matt Smith is definitely getting better too ^_^

That was the best episode of the series so far... but I still have reservations of Matt as a Dr. its simply not crafted for him I just don't like him at all.

As for the episode 10.10

I thought overall it was good, Matt Smith was the best he has been yet in the series.

However, yet again, like last week, the second half of the episode didn't live up to the first half, the tension with Amy being trapped with the Angel coming through the screen was the highlight of the series so far. But yet again the show's direction in the second half let down a rather good script, as the pace and tension slowed it down to a bit of a drag.

But, I hate to say this, but that episode was certainly no Blink; nor was it on a par with Silence in the Library / Forest Of The Dead.

Don't forget Blink was just a Sally Sparrow episode, the Dr was hardly used, so I can't really compare it with Blink, the episode stands well on its own. And should have left it as that. Its just a classic episode in its own right, and left alone.

Yes, but it was the one episode that previously featured the Weeping Angels, therefore the comparison is relevant; and tonight's episode whilst good, moved me nowhere near as much emotionally probably as there was no one in tonight cast who is likely to get nominated for an Oscar in the future

This is easily my favourite episode of the series so far. I think the first half was better than the second, with Amy trapped with the angel coming out of the screen. I'm really looking forward to next week's now, the clip looks very promising! :D

The best episode of the series for definate and a great big improvement on the previous 2 episodes in particular. The episodes which featured the Wheeping Angels and River Song in series 3 and series 4 were highlights of those particular years however I cant help but agree with TIP slightly that they failed somewhat to live up to them in that departement.

I think River Song is a fantastic character though and the general employment of Alex Kingston should always be encoureged and the whole I think the episode was done well - makes sense to make it a double episode aswell.

8/10

I loved it this week, so much better than last week. I still had the sound problem I thought a lot of the effects simply drowned out the dialogue. However I didn't have this problem when I watched online clips so I may check it out on iplayer. I LOVE River Song.

I've just finished watching this episode and I LOVED it. River Song is very good, and Amy is proving to be just as comical as Catherine Tate was before her. I don't understand her turning to stone though, did she or didn't she?

And who IS River Song? :o

No her hand didn't turn to stone - she looked into the eyes of a Weeping Angel (the 'door to the soul' or something) allowing the Angels to play mind tricks on them.

They made her think she was turning to stone to make her easier to catch (because she thought she couldn't move)

im pretty much with mikey on matt smith, im unconvinced and still can hear echos of tennant in his performance.

i like the idea of the weeping angels, a malevolant life form that can rest in stone form, move quickly, and are evil... great idea and a refreshing change from daleks and cyberbores. nice to see them getting off earth! historically my favs were always the ones where they interacted on other planets with other life forms (that too was the appeal of 'star trek'). i hope the dr gets off earth more often, and discover more new alien life forms please!

i agree it was easily the best of the seriese so far, though im not a fan of alex kingston.

I thought it was fairly fabulous and really just what the series needed. Well paced, excellent plot, dark and tense, and I completley disagree with Mikey and Rob, i think Matt Smith is really coming out of his shell now as a brilliant doctor who does have his own take on the role. As for Karen Gillan, well, I live for the woman so any judgment given willl be pure bias. But she's amazing.

Only saw the first half or so, but even that was better than the whole series so far. Seems Matt () is getting a little better and Amy is just stunning, as usual.

Also, I LOVE River Song (+ Alex), she is just FABULOUS

Ah, well that makes a lot more sense ^_^ Thanks.

Good episode and Matt & particularly Karen were strong. I seem to be in a minority but I just don't get the fuss over River Song. She's ok but far too cocky. Also although the Angels are a great idea I can't help but feel they always look crap when showing their scary faces.

Lastly people have commented on here before about the music being too loud for the dialogue. I've never had this issue before but this week I did find that and this was the first time I watched it on someone else's telly. Might be the differnce

It got 6.6m last night, 2m down on last week. Although some people would have recorded it, or will be watching it via iplayer/ondemand.

I think it does have something to do with the tv (although I've watched this series on two different tvs) because I watched again on iplayer this morning like I said I would and I could hear everything perfectly.

I'm really enjoying Matt as the Doctor and Amy looked stunning in this episode

Not that fussed about River Song, as Severin said she is cocky (I swear she wasn't that annoying in their "first" meeting).

Anyway yeh loved the episode, definitely one of if not the best enemy.
