April 11, 201015 yr The cybermen and the daleks are among the greatest television villains ever invented so it's a shame that Dr Who is overusing them. A series without them would be most welcome.
April 11, 201015 yr Unlike a lot of people here, I really enjoyed episode 2 :) But I've only started watching Doctor Who this series, so that's probably why
April 11, 201015 yr Did it? :o Was that the one where Rose went into the parallel universe due to the Cybermen invasion? If so, then of course it did! DUH at me. It all happened in the Torchwood London HQ. This was were Rose "died" too.
April 11, 201015 yr It all happened in the Torchwood London HQ. This was were Rose "died" too. Then it seems that this crack thing will be in the finale!
April 11, 201015 yr Rumour is the finale is Daleks and Cybermen :( ARGHHHHH. It better not be, I am so tired of the scriptwriters dragging up the same old enemies over and over again.
April 11, 201015 yr Rumour is the finale is Daleks and Cybermen :( I was under the impression it was going to be the Silurians given that they're back in a mid series 2 parter and that's usually a strong indicator. Plus that would tie in nicely with the crack theme, given their origins
April 11, 201015 yr Then it seems that this crack thing will be in the finale! If you saw the future trailers at the end of the first episode last week, those creatures do turn up again at some point, I reckon the answers lie within that episode.
April 12, 201015 yr Author There is some info on ep 12 and 13 from Mr M himself - and a tiny script extract... A message on the oldest cliff-face in the universe, a puzzle box opening from the inside and a love that lasts thousands of years… The fates are drawing close around the Tardis - is this the day the Doctor falls? "There was a goblin. Or a trickster, or a warrior. A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. Nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it - one day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world" It appears Stonehenge will be a big setting - and I'd guess that the "puzzle box" is the pandoric or the pandorical (still not sure what Prisoner Zero said exactly!). Now just have to wait and see who or what comes out of the puzzle box!
April 12, 201015 yr I hope the rumour about Daleks and Cybermen in the finale aren't true. It's so boring having the same enemies come back over and over again.
April 12, 201015 yr personally im pleased that so many of you are also fed up with the obligatory daleks and cybermen. i hope they get dropped, not from just 1 seriese but for several at least.... if dr who survives.
April 12, 201015 yr I thought I read somewhere there's going to be loads of enemies in the final inc. those 2, when if you like Pandora's Box flies open. Kitchen sink much? What's causing the cracks is intriguing moi, shame they're being so blatant with it after only 2 eps.
April 13, 201015 yr I quite liked Episode 2. I thought the concept was very interesting, although admittedly the conclusion didn't have that much to it. Overall, I'm satisfied with the first couple of episodes... Matt, Karen and Moffat are really bringing a fresh new energy to the show - which is much-needed because Tennant and the show generally had really started to grow very stale imo. With that said, I'm not too happy about the Daleks being brought in yet AGAIN, but I always like the historical episodes so I am looking forward to next week's.
April 13, 201015 yr I think next weeks WWII episode would be so much better if the Daleks were invloved with the Nazis (especially Mengele) and not the Allies.
April 13, 201015 yr I think next weeks WWII episode would be so much better if the Daleks were invloved with the Nazis (especially Mengele) and not the Allies. That would be a bit too obvious though. Maybe an involvement with Churchill (oh yes) will give it a good twist.
April 17, 201015 yr Author Nice interview with Steven Moffat: Confirms we will get the full River Song story. Also mentions Rory's ID badge from TEH - which said 1990. Amy isn't from then and SM says 1990 was a mistake. Hmmm! http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/features/...-doctor-who.php ===== Very surprised to find myself so excited for tonight's episode. Not a Dalek fan but reviews have been so good and they all say it's as good as Dalek from the first new series :D
April 17, 201015 yr That would be a bit too obvious though. Maybe an involvement with Churchill (oh yes) will give it a good twist. Yeah it would be obvious but I just think it would be nice if The Doctor landed somewhere on Earth that wasn't Britain occasionally.
April 17, 201015 yr Author Yeah it would be obvious but I just think it would be nice if The Doctor landed somewhere on Earth that wasn't Britain occasionally. We've been to New New York ;) Also episode 6 in Venice may be off interest! I do agree though - but hey outside of London for a bit and I'm happy!
