Peter Andre's new single 'Behind Closed Doors' experienced massive first day sales, according to online retailer Amazon.

The track, Andre's first solo release in five years, is currently outselling songs including 'I Gotta Feeling' by Black Eyed Peas, Tinchy Stryder's 'Never Leave You' and new Calvin Harris single 'Ready for the Weekend'.

"We saw a high number of orders as soon as the track became available at midnight on Sunday morning and sales continued to be strong throughout the day," said Amazon's head of music buying Julian Monaghan.

"There is a good way to go before the end of the week but the initial response suggests that 'Behind Closed Doors' could well join 'Flava', 'I Feel You' and 'Mysterious Girl' in Peter Andre's list of UK chart toppers."

The download, which is available on Amazon for just 29p, is currently at number five and number two on the iTunes singles and album chart respectively.

Speaking to DS recently, Andre confirmed that he is "fighting" to top the charts with the single.

No way could he end up #1 by Sunday with him being #4 on iTunes right now - he could have to sell X Factor-loads of physicals for it to happen and I don't think Peter Andre could be capable of that, no matter what the circumstances.
I do hope so. ^_^ Much better than that Dizzee Rascal tripe...
Next they'll probably be giving a code for a free download of it with the latest issue of Heat to count towards his "sales."
How much badness can I wish on him without getting banned?

Take it with a pinch of salt...

David Balls is a terrible reporter!!

David Balls - such an unfortunate surname.

Its like a mashup of David Beckam and his AKA Golden Balls.

BTW he is num 1 in the album chart (itunes) with the single
BCD is #4 on singles (behind BEP, Tinchmelle and Calvpearce) and #1 on iTunes albums...
itunes albums don't sell that much at all. btw.
probably because of Alan Carr last night....
Yeah sales are huge on Amazon, there is no mention of any download sites in the article, so its the biggest selling single on Amazon, when iTunes have the larger share of the download market, so I doubt he make #1, the reporter did not take other sites in account what an idiot. I do wonder if he had the BALLS to write the article.

I hope it doesn't :puke:

It's selling purely on the back of Katie vs Peter, lets be honest and I find the whole thing completely boring.

:puke2: :puke2: I'm distressed that its even going to chart at all let alone possibly make #1! The only good thing is that his musical comeback will be as short lived as when he came out of the jungle and saw his album storm up the charts to #44 before getting promtly dropped
