Posted August 11, 200916 yr Peter Andre is heading for his biggest hit in more than five years with Behind Closed Doors, but it is Black Eyed Peas and Calvin Harris who are the frontrunners to top the UK singles chart this coming Sunday. Andre’s newly-released single, issued on the Conehead label, has been priced at a discounted 29p on Amazon and at present is one of the five biggest-selling singles of the week. However, it is currently being outsold by Columbia act Calvin Harris’s new single Ready For The Weekend, also newly-issued this week, which is around 1,500 sales off the week’s biggest seller so far, I Gotta Feeling by Interscope/Polydor’s Black Eyed Peas. The top five sellers at present are completed by 4th & Broadway/Island’s Tinchy Stryder whose Never Leave You duet with Amelle debuted at number one last Sunday and Good Music/Mercury’s Supernova by Mr Hudson featuring Kanye West. A third brand new single is also presently figuring in the week’s Top 10 sellers, One More Chance by Wichita’s Bloc Party. Lower down, Def Jam/Mercury act Jeremih’s Birthday Sex, which finished in 196th place on the chart last Sunday, is on course to move into the Top 40 this coming weekend, while Parlophone’s Lily Allen will score a further Top 40 hit with the track 22. The albums chart will welcome the return of The Stones Roses’ self-titled debut some 20 years after it first charted. The anniversary edition, issued by Silvertone/Columbia, is currently the week’s fifth biggest seller. The album has charted numerous times previously, but has never ranked higher than number nine, a position it achieved in 2004. The four albums currently ahead of the Stone Roses release are the RCA-handled The Essential by Michael Jackson, Interscope/Polydor’s The End by Black Eyed Peas, RCA’s Beyonce album I Am Sasha Fierce and Island act Florence + The Machine with Lungs. Apart from the Stone Roses re-issue, there are no new albums released this week that at this stage that are among the week’s 40 top sellers, although Conditions, the debut album by Infectious Music’s Temper Trap, is just outside. August 11, 200916 yr 01 BEP (By about 5k) 02 CALVIN (By about 2k) 03 TINCHY (By about 1k) 04 PETER (By about 8k) 05 BEYONCE So a pretty close race for #1 Really hope CALVIN gets there by sunday :)
August 11, 200916 yr In the albums, the top 3 could remain the same with Michael Jackson on top for a 7th week unless Florence & The Machine can snatch a week, as for the new releases its looking more like a dumb week, notable releases from the Temper Trap, Tommy Sparks and another version of PCD's Doll Domination. All in all its a dead chart. Hasn't Jackson already been at the top for 7 weeks? One week with Number Ones and 6 weeks with 'The Essential Michael Jackson'?
August 11, 200916 yr Hasn't Jackson already been at the top for 6 weeks? One week with Number Ones and 5 weeks with 'The Essential Michael Jackson'? There, corrected it for you ^_^
August 11, 200916 yr Hmm, I guess I'm being a bit slow this morning because nothing has changed. Was I right or not?

August 11, 200916 yr Corrected just for you ;) (anxresi corrected your reply - watch the 'quote' in his post, but he's not right) Ah, it's too early to research album runs. :)
August 11, 200916 yr I thought the Stone Roses might be able to re-enter at #1 given the sales are hilariously low at the moment.
August 11, 200916 yr Ah, it's too early to research album runs. :) Just checked back the charts and Bobmoo was actually right.
August 11, 200916 yr Whoa, Calvin's at number 2! :w00t: And BEPs number 2 in albums! :w00t: Edited August 11, 200916 yr by BJBB Theo
August 11, 200916 yr booo for Florence falling in the albums I was going to buy the deluxe edition today, but it appears to have been deleted :snif: should have gone with my gut and bought it when it was released but I had resevations about whether I'd like the main album let alone a bonus disc  at BEP's set for two simultaneous returning chart toppers
