May 13, 201015 yr So the playoff final for the championship is Cardiff V Blackpool..... neither are exsactly thrilling prospects as premier legaue sides are they.....
May 13, 201015 yr Apart from when West Brom played Derby I don't think I've ever wanted one team to win a playoff final more than the other. It's disgusting that Cardiff should be able to continue to exist with such fantastic Championship players as Marshall, Whittingham, Chopra, Bothroyd, Matthews and Ledley when they're in so much debt. Most other clubs would've been forced to sell such talent and it's wrong that they keep getting let off and let off and repayments are being pushed back and pushed back just because there's a chance they'll be able to get to the Premiership and be able to pay off their debt. COME ON BLACKPOOL! What a story that would be!
May 13, 201015 yr I too shall be hoping for a Blackpool win. My dad used to work there. First League One play off tomorrow night.
May 15, 201015 yr Chelsea are only the sixth club in history to do the double! First done by Preston then Villa, Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United.
May 15, 201015 yr Best Cup Final since Liverpool beat West Ham. Good game, best team won and glad they did.
May 15, 201015 yr Poor Ross County :( And as for south of the border - meh! Condolences to family and friends of Swansea's Besian Idrizaj who died aged 22. WOnder if Jan Muir has anything to say
May 16, 201015 yr Grandwicky - Liverpool did the double in 1986. Haha! Trust a Manchester United fan to forget about them :P
May 16, 201015 yr I too felt sorry for Ross County. :( Dagenham and Redbridge vs Morecambe in the League 2 play off semi final soon, followed by the Blue Square Premier play off final between Oxford and York. I am hoping for a York win in that. :cheer: I am hoping for Morecambe to win. :cheer: Edited May 16, 201015 yr by Flatcap
May 16, 201015 yr Think I gave both teams I wanted to win the kiss of death, perhaps I should refrain from posting my hopes on here.
May 16, 201015 yr Author Gutted. Gifted Oxford two goals. Better team on the day won. They'll do good in the League next year, although for 33,000 fans they made about as much noise as a sleeping child.
May 17, 201015 yr 2nd legs of the play off semi-finals coming this week, plus the Championship play off final at the weekend. Charlton vs Swindon Millwall vs Huddersfield I am hoping Huddersfield and Swindon (my aunt used to live near there) get through to the final. Rotherham vs Aldershot Morecambe vs Dagenham & Redbridge Rotherham and Morecambe were my initial hopes, however after the demolition that Morecambe suffered on Monday this is not looking too likely. As for the play off final at the weekend, come on Blackpool. :cheer:
May 17, 201015 yr Well done to on loan youngster Stephen Darby scoring the winning penalty in their shootout against Charlton Athletic. :w00t: Good to know that at least one Liverpool player will be playing a cup match at Wembley Stadium this season. Anyway after a certain promoted side from the first Division can get a song high up on ITunes; then I reckon a remake of this original hit single (by my local club's manager namesake) would be a worthy Top 40 hit. May 22, 201015 yr ^ It certainly is very entertaining. This could replace the 1993 Play-off Final: Swindon Town 4–3 Leicester City as the best top flight play-off to date.
May 22, 201015 yr I hope Blackpool win the "relegated by next Christmas" cup final. Not that I'm bitter or anything, I mean why would I want to be at Wembley on a day like today? :(
May 22, 201015 yr ^ It certainly is very entertaining. This could replace the 1993 Play-off Final: Swindon Town 4–3 Leicester City as the best top flight play-off to date. Charlton 4-4 SUnderland in 1998 wasn't bad either. Then the first 13 penalties were scored before Sasa Ilic saved the 14th and Charlton went up.
May 22, 201015 yr I think I spoke too soon :( Second half's been a bit blah but as long as Blackpool win I don't mind :D
