September 6, 200916 yr The only way Radio 1 will playlist it is if it gets to #1 without their support... which won't happen. Loads of songs that are played on specialist shows never get playlisted, although if certain songs get a good reception (normally by new artists) then there's a likelyhood it'll get playlisted. I read somewhere that "In For The Kill" reached number 4 before they play-listed La Roux? Anyone know if there is any truth in that? :unsure:

Anyone know if there is any truth in that? :unsure: I think it was in the 1-Upfront list for a while and removed just before its release, then it went to #11 in the chart. I think on the week it climbed to #7 IFTK was re-added to the playlist at the B-List and it was A-Listed a couple weeks later. Not entirely certain, but something like that happened. Basically it was a hell of a lot more successful than expected and Radio 1 had egg on their face, so they covered it up by re-playlisting them off the back of their early success (hence their eventual climb to #2 in the chart followed by becoming the third biggest seller of the year so far) Edited September 6, 200916 yr by B-rye.
