September 2, 200916 yr Radio is immense, its chart position and sales show that. The single will likely be the same. Now seems a perfect time for robbie to make a comeback. I think its gona be goooooood :D Sales? Didn't it have a pretty bad chart run and become one of the lowest selling #1s of that year? 'Radio' is forgettable I think, it was probably mainly a fanbase buy in a low sales period and leading off a GH that got it to #1 in the first place.

Which would suggest it was a summer hit? :unsure: It did drop pretty quickly after that if I remember rightly, so wouldn't have sold too well. Summer 2004 was hardly the best time for single sales!

A lot of the songs on these specialist shows are for a specific target audience, Trevor Nelson caters for urban music listeners in particular. There are loads of specialist shows on Radio 1 from a lot of genres, most never see the daytime playlist.

The only way Radio 1 will playlist it is if it gets to #1 without their support... which won't happen. Loads of songs that are played on specialist shows never get playlisted, although if certain songs get a good reception (normally by new artists) then there's a likelyhood it'll get playlisted.

I've never heard the original to be honest but Robbie did a good version. I must be one of the few people who actually liked the video (and started to like the song) of She's Madonna. Rudebox the single though was a pile of tosh! Norma
