Checking out the stats thread you and I are now tied on 4 runner up spots by the by :kink:

I thought you'd broken my record there but shamefully forgot about Zowie's Broken Machine coming second for me. Only Anna Abreu, The Sound Of Arrows and Lise Karlsnes came to mind instantly :drama:

I'd never really considered before that I've had eleven top two finishes :o I actually prefer second sometimes, like you said in the other thread, a fantastic result without the aggro of hosting. Don't get me wrong, I love hosting but twice a year MAX

So far this year I've managed to double the number of 2nd place finishes I've ever had! It's crazy how well this year has started off for Ashton, makes a nice change!

You've got to be #1 for the year so far, surely? Keep it up! The second win is SURELY around the corner, talk about coming painfully close every time you come 2nd, my 2nd placers were all enough behind the winners for me not to worry too much

You're welcome, amazing discovery, even if it was more of a grower over the weeks/months since you first introduced me to it! Fantastic winner :D

I know I didn't vote for your entry this time, and I know I didn't gave you a commiseration even; but 'Wild love' has officially grown on me to the point where you deserved that commiseration! :D

Oh and I'm actually going to chart it as well this week! ^_^

Well that's something at least! I noticed that I was absent from your commiserations :P Glad it's grown on you.

I guess Wild Love was too much of a grower to do really well, my instant songs usually end up doing the best. Pretty sure her voice put a lot of people off too, although I think it's gorgeous

thnx for 12

...but, but...where is my personal thank you post Addy? :o

Botanikka in Batidas SNUB shocker!!!

Rae Morris steps forward for Rontvia's 43rd entry

18 year old Blackpool singer/songwriter Rae Morris will be representing FSR Rontvia in BJSC XLIII, to be held in Botanikka. The beautiful piano/string ballad Don't Go continues Rontvia's aim to send something completely different each month! The upcoming talent wrote the gorgeous song herself and said 'it's an honour to be representing FSR Rontvia in Botanikka, I really hope that everybody connects to Don't Go'.

It's the first time FSR Rontvia have sent a ballad since the 2nd contest, and Natasha Bedingfield's Stumble, depending on your interpretations of Breaking The Silence, Sadness Is A Blessing and Vaporous, although those are arguably all mid-tempo. Don't Go is definitely the most stripped back entry ever from a nation more used to sending electropop, Scandipop and dance!

Ricardo Delta of the RTVN said 'it's important to keep things fresh, for both the Rontvian public and the international audience, and it was about time that we sent a proper ballad. We certainly haven't heard a better one than Don't Go for a very long time, it shot straight in at #2 in the Rontvian charts, just behind Loreen's long running #1 Euphoria and is expected to hang around for a long time. Furthermore, Rae is the first British artist that we've sent since 2010 if you include Ellie Goulding's duet with Lena Meyer-Landrut, and the first solo British artist that we've sent since Fabio Lendrum in 2009! We believe that Don't Go is a breathtaking, standout song and hopefully it will find its way into the hearts of many countries, just like it did ours, and that Rae will be a star of the future as she deserves.' Rae performed Don't Go live to an adoring crowd as the entry was unveiled, there were tears;

Rae performs Don't Go on the BBC Review show!

First live TV performance ever, nicely done I think. One to watch for 2013 and beyond.

Rae narrowly scores another hit for FSR Rontvia

Finishing 14th in the semi (therefore avoiding a DNQ by the narrowest of margins) and 14th again in the final with the Semi 1 voters in the mix, Rae Morris' piano ballad Don't Go emulated Gossling's 14th place with Wild Love last month. Rae said 'I'm thrilled to provide Rontvia with a hit, piano ballads rarely do well in BJSC and it's great that a lot of countries seemed to like the track!'. Ricardo Delta said, 'we expected a 14th-18th place finish so it did as well as we could have hoped, next month we will try to escape from 14th place though!'. Numayania scored their long overdue second win with the Dragonette song Let It Go, a recent top 75 hit in FSR Rontvia.

Mr Little Jeans steps forward for BJSC XLIVe in Numayania!

Norwegian female pop singer Mr Little Jeans will be representing FSR Rontvia in the 44th edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest, which will be held this month in Numayania. Runaway is a gorgeous, swirling slice of electro-pop which has stormed straight into the Rontvian charts at #2, behind only Loreen's monster smash hit Euphoria! Ricardo Delta said 'After two months of finishing 14th, it would be nice to reach the top ten this time but with a whopping 50 entries that's obviously a big ask! Still, we believe that we have a very strong song with a great chorus so fingers crossed that it goes big in the hall!'.

Haloo Helsinki! step forward for 45

Finnish punk rock act Haloo Helsinki! will be representing FSR Rontvia in the 45th Buzzjack Song Contest, to be held in Eledan. The mixed quartet will be hoping to light up the scoreboard with the rather poppy Maailman Toisella Puolen, already a top three smash in FSR Rontvia. Last month's entry, Runaway by Mr Little Jeans, marked a return to the top ten for FSR Rontvia when it finished in 8th. Maailman Toisella Puolen is only the third time FSR Rontvia have sent a foreign language entry, following Markoolio & Linda Bengtzing's Värsta Schlagern and Eric Amarillo's Om Sanningen Ska Fram, both Swedish language songs.

ATB steps forward for entry number 46

German DJ Andre Tanneberger AKA ATB is the latest act to represent FSR Rontvia in BJSC. ATB is one of the most successful acts of all time, having scored five #1's in the country since 1999 - 9PM (Till I Come), Don't Stop, My Dream, I Don't Wanna Stop and now Never Give Up which climbed to the top this week, ending Loreen's epic 17 week run at the top with Euphoria. Featuring the unique vocals of Germany's The Voice star Ramona Nerra, Never Give Up isn't typical ATB - gone are the bendy synths, replaced by a euphoric Calvin Harris style trance sound. The song is set to be one of the biggest hits of the summer in FSR Rontvia and it's hoped that it will go down well across The Buzzjack World.
