I hope to god the S/S era never returns :( It's so uninspired and timeless, it NEVER changes each time it comes back into fashion

I just want to be able to send a Ballad/Midtempo without it flopping.

Cilmi better come back with an uptempo

but when it's good, it's great!

that's what I love about some singer/songwriter songs...look at A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton, or any Tori Amos ballads...they'll never sound dated as there's nothing that can age about a vocal and a piano...it's usually production that makes songs sound out of date

BJSC has been incredibly electro obsessed all year, but then so have the charts in general...I find that this contest generally seems to reflect the trends seen in the music scene in general. Incidentally after the theatrical pop of 2007, the soul pop of 2008 and the electro pop of 2009, does anybody know what the 'sound of 2010' is set to be yet? :o

My top25 Sugababes songs probably contains more ballads than uptempos

Believe Again just came on shuffle

When a ballad is done properly like Believe Again or Run For Cover then it is truly timeless.

Believe Again sounds stunning with some Bass :o

The sound of 2010 is probably singer songwriter melding with electro...Ellie Goulding, Starsmith and the like. There's probably room for Fabio Lendrum in there!

Oh, and if we get our timings right, we could totally get Beautiful Small Machines a deal :o
