Not a fan, tbh.

The song is kinda boring, and Lena's voice isn't interesting enough to compensate that. Ellie's is but her parts are too short. I expected more, sorry. :P

That's ok, it's definitely more Lena than Ellie but I like the simplicity of the track. It didn't hit me until a few listens in but I thought the 'big final' would be the best opportunity to send a grower. I love it now :D

Fab, love it

Glad it's not just me :D

Anticipation grows in Rontvia

FSR Rontvia has stopped as the nation gear up to present the BuzzJack Song Contest for the 4th time tonight. Quotosibb, Mdice, Ojnoj, United States of Jack, Nonsuch Sangria, Palmyra, Angelicland, Greenfroze and more recently Botanikka and Bhangra have been tipped for the top by various bookies across the BuzzJack World. A significant number of Eurovision and Melodifestivalen artists are also taking part - Mans Zelmerlow of Letland and Eric Saade of Kopecka are locked in an almighty tussle to be crowned Sweden's favourite pretty boy, whilst Safura of Torchwood, Anna Bergendgal of Bignia-Zaragovina and Lena Meyer-Landrut of FSR Rontvia all want to come out on top too, but can Lena thrash all of them again or can Saflopra and Anna Bergenflop redeem themselves in Constarvan?

It seems more wide open than ever, but the smart money on tonight's victory is on Mdice and Quotosibb, who have already won 6 and 2 times respectively, can either add another win to their belt, can another past winner take the crown again, or will we add a new country to the winners hall of fame? Join us at 7pm to find out!!!

In a rare move, FSR Rontvia have decided this month to reveal the two songs currently in contention to represent the country next month. A shortlist of 8 songs has been whittled down to two and these are the finalists for BJSC XXVIII to be held in Kopecka.

Voe - Don't Talk To Me

Voe, real name Emilie Nereng, is a young Norwegian singer, and this song went straight into the Norwegian top ten upon release. Ricardo Delta said 'the chorus and general feel of the song very much reminds me of All About You by City Chix, which should was a Rontvian top ten hit a few years ago. The song debuted at #6 in the Rontvian charts this week.

The Naked & Famous - Young Blood

The second finalist is a young indie/alternative/pop band hailing from New Zealand (where this song has already been #1) who have been seen as somewhere in between MGMT and Passion Pit musically. The song would be a huge musical departure for FSR Rontvia but Ricardo Delta said 'Rontvia don't usually like this sort of stuff but it's smashed in at #7 in the Rontvian charts on the first week and could be big indeed. MGMT had great success in FSR Rontvia, particularly with the first album, Kids and The Youth. So perhaps it's no surprise that it's done well'.

Voe - rubbish. 3/10. Really. :( She sounds so young, very young it even puts off lolz, also the song is generic and boring, i stopped it after one minute. Even the fact that she's Scandinavian didn't help lol

The Naked And Famous - This is good  I hope you will choose this, at least out of the two current variants you have  9/10.

Interesting, I expected these comments though so not entirely surprising :heehee:

I can see where you're coming from with the first song, although I find the chorus really catchy! Although cpnsidering how much the indie crowd hated Music Everywhere and Psycho, I can't even begin to think of the comments that this song would get :drama:

Indie voters didn't really stop both of them succeeding in the contest :o

SEND WAKA WAKA TBH.

But it's been banned :(

Well no, but only because they apparently appealed almost universally to the pop voters  What bad taste we all have!

I'll leave sending the latest Shakira smashes to you :kink: It's not banned anyway, it's not one of the first two singles from a new album/era, it's just a standalone one off release, which didn't make the banlist!

You're having a huge Mikey moment here. Waka Waka was banned by the banlist nominations last time :kink:

But yeah i should totally send the spanish version and finish 2nd etc

Oh dear, I thought it had only got 2 votes, but iirc there was a last minute 3rd vote for it which banned it.

I guess the Spanish version would be slightly less cheap, but still as cheap as somebody sending a song from the new Kylie album, which will obviously happen :drama:

OMG, I had my eye on this track since I saw it in Mykul's personal chart, I totally heart this track  very MGMT-ish

Don't talk to me feels unoriginal and a bit outdated in a way, and the only thing I like about it is the chorus which isn't very strong at all imo :( But I like Young blood enough to have listened to it seven times already! Quite instant, mature, dreamy and explorative! ^_^

You're welcome! ^_^

Both songs are very good, but I think TNAF are a lot better.

Voe: 7.5/10

TNAF: 10/10

Voe - Don't Talk To Me - Nice pop song but nothing special. Sounds as if I heard it 1000 times before.

The Naked & Famous - Young Blood - This is BETTER!! :kink: I actually like this a lot.

I actually LOVED "Music Everywhere", btw.

I wanted to like Voe after all that, but no, Young Blood is much better

Thanks for all the thoughts :D I had been pretty 50/50 on it, but I guess Young Blood would make a more interesting/different entry for me than Voe which is a step down from Anna Abreu really, even if I do love it :kink:

Can't you just send M.A.G.I.C again? :(

I'm still waiting for them to release something as incredible. Into The Clouds didn't really cut it, even if I did adore it, it was nowhere near as good as M.A.G.I.C. for me, and all of their other material I've heard is average :( I do love their mix of Alejandro but it's hardly BJSC entry fodder (mainly because Ben already sent the original )
