It's an amazing pop album. So is Ten though, but I never expected her to return with another massive success to be honest :( I'm still shocked On A Mission went top ten. Someone at work actually said to me yesterday (when it came on when I was playing Now 75 at work) 'I love that song, who's it by', I said Gabriella Cilmi and they said 'never heard of her' :( Everyone knows Sweet About Me of course but she's quite unknown in general due to the fact that she doesn't whore herself all over the media - maybe she should start doing so :lol:

She does well enough in aus to allow her to flop in the UK and for her to make another album. Thank god she's on different label down there :heehee:

Although the single actually did worse there (didn't make top ten) and the album entered at #17 there or something :drama: hope she's not dropped there :cry:

 

Yeah, she's 18 so she could quite easily flaunt herself around like The Saturdays but aside from maybe one raunchy photoshoot she's not really done that.

Yeah, i disagree. A lot. In the days where you could count the indie songs from 3contests on one hand i had quite a run of hits.

I never suggested that anyone should, but a little recognition would be appreciated once in a while. EG contribution BJSC Award. I was thrilled to have been nominated for that, Tyron should have walked it tho, without him and Boyan this contest physically wouldn't exist

Ashton to use a National Final for XXVI

 

SNÁ has announced that the 26th representative of Ashton will be chosen by a National Final. Rumoured artists include She & Him, Gabriella Cilmi, Renee Cassar, Danielle Blakey and Call Me Laura. A full list of participants along with Song Titles will be published this evening with the National Final starting on Friday. Ashton will use a MF-style format to help it decide it's XXVI entrant.

 

Ashton could see itself head down the country path and even possibly dip it's toes in the Indiepop pool. The National Final will have a wide variety of genre's represented as the ASC and SNÁ search for the entry to return Ashton to it's former glory. The SNÁ is accepting submissions from Songwriters and artists until 5pm ACST today.

Melodi Grand Prix Áskorza Format, Venues and Times revealed

 

The ASC and SNÁ have revealed the format that Ashton's MF-Style national final "Melodi Grand Prix Áskorza" will take along with it's dates and venues.

 

The Contest will consist of 4 Semi's, the draw for which is broadcast at 3pm ACST on SNÁ-2 this afternoon [6pm GMT], each being held in a different venue. One song will qualify for the grand final, held in Morpeth Cove, and the runner up will qualify for Sekonde Chansj. The winner of Sekonde Chansj will qualify for the final along side the Presidents Wildcard. The 4 semi's, Sekonde Chansj and Final will be held in the Ashtonise State Capitals [With the exception of the State of Yanthington who are unable to host a date due to lack of rounds].

Jessica Pulls Out!

 

 

Jessica Mauboy has pulled out of the Ashtonise National Final after contracting a throat infection. A leading throat specialist in Morpeth ruled out her chances of participation a short time ago. Jessica had hoped to have been well enough to sing, the ASC are said to be devastated that Burn is now ineligible for Ashtonise selection a year after it was first considered.

 

Zooey Deschannel's band She & Him will replace her with their track In The Sun.
