I adore Tone, but No Way Out was a little safe. Very middle of the road mid-tempo, not quite what i was aiming for

I do love my trash, and i have to send it every now and then to remind people that FSR Ashvia is the home of Trashypop. :kink:

Yes indeed, The Last Time might be a little more muted in its trashiness but let's not overlook the fact that it's about having unforgettable sex

I definitely love the cheap trash, having originally brought it to the contest with Smack Me

It's classy trash. Clearly from the home counties and is made up of scone wrappers and earl gray tea bags that were infused with platinum.

There is no beating a good bit of trashypop, even if it did take until TBO for Smack Me to click properly

 Mutton dressed as laaaaaaaaaamb, you might say!

At least you liked it enough to give it some points in the original contest! It's still kept growing on me over time as well, the #17 peak it had in my chart was a huge injustice.

Your best entry since 'Alone'! SERIOUSLY ADDICTED!

:cheer: Just what i like to hear!!!!

My addiction to this was why i just couldn't send Tone

Fingers crossed this won't be as underrated as Alone

Mutya Buena's return to music sparks national celebration

Former Ashtonise Queen and BJSC Representative has announced that she is coming out of retirement. The news is currently the top story on all of the news outlets in the Federal Republic, who worship the former Sugababe. Mutya Buena has a gold statue in Ashton Square, it was created to celebrate her achievements in Music. Everything with Mutya's vocals on has gone to #1 in Ashton [shape was not released in the Federal Republic. Ashton instead had Switch] and the album Three is the countries highest selling album of all time with an estimated 2,980million copies sold, some 4x more than second place Angels With Dirty Faces, also featuring Queen Mutya.

The news has sparked a national celebration with a large crowd gathered at Ashton Square to celebrate at the statue. Morpeth Cove City Council has put up a stage and a DJ to play songs that feature Mutya's vocals and selected other hits. Current estimates reckon that the party will continue well into next week with most businesses and schools closed on Monday and Tuesday after the Emperor declared a national holiday.

It's definitely another great entry, Ashton are on a seriously good roll at the moment!

Tbh i've been on an unbroken roll of epic since XXIV. :kink: It's just that nobody appreciated Kriistina and Nat Bas :snif:

I'm glad that people are liking what i'm sending again, i'm still sending tracks that i love that are reasonably inspired. [With the occasional Riverside shaped blip]

Your persistence with the risks FTW campaign is finally paying off! The way you've Switched the genres up a bit is good too - from electro dance, to Swedish language pop/rock, R&B, trashy pop and Eurodance! Reminds me of when I flicked between indie, dance, rap, singer/songwriter, trashy pop and electro in 2009! My last few entries have pretty much all been pop of some sort but that seems to very much be the dominant sound in the contest all round right now since the departure of practically everyone indie.

It was totally unintentional as well

PurePop->Ballad->Dance->Stripped down Piano ballad->Pop/Rock->Eurodance->RnB->TrashyPop.

The question is where to go next :o

I think i'm due a visit to Scandipop :kink:

Your switching Genre's gave you a great run of hits, i think we've accidentally stumbled onto the secret of BJSC. Just be FSR Ashvia :kink:

I'm glad it did pay off, i was starting to lose interest in it after not getting any results at all :drama: I am very glad I have stuck with it, next contest will be the 20th Risks FTW entry from Ashton :o [and long may the pop revival continue]

It definitely gave me some well respected entries in Emiliana Torrini, Beautiful Small Machines and Blank feat Young Ivy but Example and Hafdis didn't exactly do much :snif: It's a bit hit and miss when I go with any genre other than pop I find. I don't think my 2010 entries were as memorable as my 2009 entries, but I think that's true across the board due to reduced interest and involvement in hype building activities like odds threads/predictas etc...that said, I managed to get three into the top ten of the best of, I didn't even realise Not Following had such a following (no pun intended!)

Ashton on course for a record breaker

With just 10votes remaining the Federal Republic is currently in 3rd position in Hendinia. The nail biting break in the results has the entire nation on tenderhooks awaiting the final result to see if KaraMel can stay in the top 10 to make it the first time Ashton have ever had 4 top 10's in a row and to see if they can secure 3rd position to make Ashton the second country to have finished in every place in the top 5 at least once, the other being FSR Rontvia.

One thing is for sure, Ashton has rediscovered it's former form and is back with one hell of a bang.

Underwear criminally loses out on top3 at final hurdle

Achieving the countries 3rd 4th place finish and so near to becoming the second country to have finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Underwear loses out to neighbours Botanikka by a single point. While Ashton acheived their first ever run of 4 top10s in a row breaking the previous record of 3 the near miss is sure to leave a foul taste in the mouth of the Ashtonise.

The Ashtonise central government has already confirmed that it has entered Botanikka territory on the shared island and is aiming to capture it using whatever force necessary. The War council is currently meeting at the heart of Morpeth.

Well congrats on doing so well! I think it's safe to say that Tone wouldn't have come anywhere near as high - great decision to swap!

Really gutting on losing a top3 on the last vote though. Like really gutting.

Back to back 4th's though. Better than i was expecting KaraMel to do and it kept our streak alive.

Tone might not have even finished top10 :o :drama:

I can imagine, still an amazing result for it - I think I predicted 6th so it slightly exceed my expectations!

I reckon she would have been 8th-15th personally...even from the start of the voting, Karamel were never really in danger of not finishing top ten.

I think that's the longest i've spent in the top 3 since I Don't Know :o

Especially as Molly surged from nowhere for her win.

I had hopes it would do well, and i was praying for a top10. I'm just glad it wasn't so trashy that it didn't work.

I already have two tracks lined up for XXXII. Not sure who i'm favouring though.

Guns & Boys would have been so trashy that it didn't work, or Jester's entry this month, this however was acceptable :heehee:

I'll look forward to hearing them, I have nothing lined up as usual  My host month entries always turn into a disaster anyway (apart from Not Following :funky:)
