It wouldn't be Mikey anyways. He's told me he has gone down the route of DANCE POP (:o) in order to get some recognition :D

Oh god Mikey. Trying to succeed and get noticed NEVER works.

Maybe he likes his entry though? Poor guy being one of the first participants in the contest and has yet to win :(

The 'in order to get recognition' part of your sentence prompted the response.

He's actually been in every contest! The forgotten fourth 100% participator. Trying to do well/be noticed usually backfires spectacularly.

Not overexaggerating as well

You wait until you hear my BJSC entry its so different from Indie :heehee: its more pop dance, I'm jumping on the Pop wagon to get noticed for once.

It does sound like he wants to fare well rather than he likes it. :heehee:

Edited by Oricon

I know that feeling. :D

Biggest mistake I made was entering 'Erase You' purely because I thought it was a guaranteed BJSC hit rather than I actually liked it. However, I did like 'Soldier' and was more disappointed when that song DNQ'd.

Ashton returns to Sweden for a dance risk and is a return to Norway on the cards?

After a highly successful start to 2012 the ASC and SNÁ have decided to take more of a risk by sending an instrumental dance track. Mellow by Swedish dance outfit Nause has made it through to the final being held by our neighbour and long time sparring partner.

The song has lit up the Ashtonise club charts scoring 3 successive weeks at #1. On the main chart the song has been a slow burner rising 37-30-21-5 in the 4 weeks it has been on the chart.

The ASC and SNÁ have publicly stated that they are not after a successful finish with Mellow, but are completing a long time goal of sending an instrumental to the contest.

In other news: Our source at Ashton House has confirmed that the Federal Republic will be represented by a Norwegian artist for the second time this year at next months contest.

Nause exceeds expectations rocking home in 11th place

Ashton House are tonight celebrating yet another successful finish for Ashton with the glorious Mellow by Swedish dance outfit Nause finishing 11th in the final in neighbouring Botanikka. Ashton spent most of the results hanging around the 10th/11th mark falling down to 11th in the last vote. The track has been far more successful than the ASC or SNÁ predicted scoring another three figure points score for the country.

Ashton's fourth entry to the Buzzjack Song Contest took away the win tonight for close allies Numayania. In the tied victory Dragonette beat Eledan's entry on the count back. Dragonette took a massive 45% of the Ashtonise televote and were the clear choice for 12 points (15% went to FSR Rontvia and 5% to Espen). Ashton has been highly supportive of previous entries by Dragonette with the Emperor having this to say: "The Ashtonise people and myself dearly love Dragonette and have done for some time. We are thrilled to see them get the success in BJSC they have long deserved. The band had far too many high quality entries for True Believer to remain the only top10. I personally was overjoyed to see Numayania enter Dragonette this month. We have been waiting for the band to return with another track that has the understated beauty of True Believer before asking them to once more represent us. Naturally when Numayania notified us of their intention to enter Dragonette we offered our full support and commended their excellent choice! While we haven't found the right track to fit Ashton that doesn't mean we aren't over the moon to see more entries by them as they are a consistently high quality band and we will always support efforts to introduce them to new audiences. Nause this month was a risk for us, I couldn't be happier that it paid off for us! Second in the Semi-Final is especially excellent news. The public have been demanding an instrumental entry for over two years as well as more dance music to fully reflect the music taste of the country as a whole. When we came across Mellow we knew it would be the perfect track."

Dragonette entered the charts at #3 on Sunday behind 'Look Back' which has fallen from #1 for the first time since it's release to #2 as 'Imagine' by Tone Damli and Eric Saade flies into the chart at #1 on the basis of 12hours sales. Racking up a record-breaking 87m sales (109m for the first 24hrs is also a chart record) it was 12m ahead of Look Back and 15m ahead of Dragonette. Rae Morris entered at #4 on 58m sales with Nause at #5 on sales of 58m. Ivy Quainoo was the only other BJSC entry in the top 10, she entered at #8 with sales of 42m.

Ashtonise entrant deported

The Federal Republic of Ashton released a press release just a moment ago saying:

"The Buzzjack Song Contest XLIV representative for Ashton has been served with a deportation notice. Further details to follow."

This follows Ashton's abysmal 25th place finish with Nina Nesbit's 'The Apple Tree'. We are unsure at this time from which country Nina is being deported but we believe it to be Ashton.

Ashton looking ahead to XLV

The ASC and SNÁ are pleased to announce that they are looking forward to the 45th contest, which will be Ashton's 30th as a moderating nation for BJSC. Equalling Kopecka's tally and making Ashton the contests longest running moderator. Ashton House has heard rumours that Nina Nesbit has been issued with a Deportation Order for immediate removal from The Federal Republic. To the best of the knowledge of the ASC and SNÁ this is untrue. We are both deeply unhappy with the poor performance of 'The Apple Tree' thinking the stunningly beautiful song deserved far better than 25th.

Ashton will be returning to a public selection process after theft-gate of BJSC XLIII saw citizens of Ramrynia and Chrisland barred from entering Ashton.

The ASC and SNÁ are pleased to announce that Molly Sandén is under contract to appear for Ashton in XLV.

AS IF Molly won't be vetoed. I'm surprised you even went in that cheap direction.

I was going to enter a Molly track too but not the one your topic description suggests! But of course I won't now as I don't want to cause Lewin-gate version 2.0! :kink:

I think it will probably get vetoed anyway, but if it does somehow make it through - good luck! :D

Considering Molly has more hype around her than the last time she was vetoed having just released her album, how can she not get vetoed this time around :P

When exactly was the last time an artist under contract to Ashton actually ended up representing Ashton in that contest? Dragonette have been under contract to Ashton since they came top10 in BJSC IV...

Can Ashton repeat their winning formula?

Rumours at Ashton House are suggesting that Ashton will be entering an uptempo/midtempo Swedish Language entry to the forthcoming 45th Buzzjack Song Contest. The ASC and SNÁ are said to be torn between three different songs by the same artist with a former back-up entry leading the pack slightly.

We currently have no information on the artist other than that she is a female signed to a major Swedish record label.

Linda crashes out of Eledan with Trasig

Ashton failed to qualify for the 45th Buzzjack Song Contest with Linda Sundblad and Trasig. The beautiful Swedish track has shot to #1 on AshTunes since the results were announced, experts are predicting it to climb from 3 to be the first song to knock Tone Damli Aaberge off #1 since Look Back rocketed to #1 earlier this year. The ASC and SNÁ are said to be disappointed in Buzzjack's mass hearing failure and are thankful to the few who voted and supported Linda, especially Greenfroze. They also are said to be looking forwards and will be continuing with their current entry strategy. Emperor Silas confirmed that Ashton would not move away from it's sound to suit the make up of the contest and will continue to send great music with the aim of introducing these songs to people that may not have heard them before.

I'm so sorry my 10 didn't help you :( Like I said I think it's a lovely song and I hoped it would qualify. This is like that contest where you gave Xelle 8 points - a complete shame when stuff like that happens :(

Do you have anything in mind for the next contest, then?

Thanks! The 10 was most appreciated. You got more points from me in this semi than you did with Xelle! They really deserved to qualify, such a good track.

Currently Ola -'Overdrive' and The Boom Boom 'Creature' are leading the way.
