Thread #3, continue posting along :cheer:

As I was saying ....

I actually think the fact that the public seems to be losing a little interest in the show is a bit worrying for Simon Cowell. Certainly it still has the viewing figures - but people aren't buying into the whole package now, i.e. although they enjoy watching, cheering, hissing and booing from their armchairs - they're not following up with the once 'taken for granted' phone vote. He seemed shocked that both Ruth and Laura were in the bottom two. Well tough luck Simon - you may own the game but people don't have to play by your rules!

I don't think I've ever had the first post in one of these threads before!

I'm genuinley pissed off at last nights result.

The British public are a joke and thats why these shows become so $h!t.

if the public carry on this way we will have Daniel vs Eoghan fighting it out for the worst ever winner of the show!

It isn't the public that is the joke! Heaven forbid that people may actually go out and seek their entertainment ... instead of having Mr Cowell neatly package up what he sees as the act we should love because it is he who has brought it to the attention of the 'couch potato' public. The show itself is a joke and the public have only now begun to realise it.

Eoghan is only there still because teenage girls want to f*** him and because he has the Irish fanbase voting him en masse like the Scots did with the McDonald Brothers, vocally he is dire but the teenage girls and the Irish will get him into the final

Daniel is only there because of his sob story, his wife dying will probably keep him in a couple more weeks

It is just a waste seeing these 2 getting through at each week at the expense of people with genuine talent like Laura and to a lesser extent Austin

I agree.

There is a genuine backlash against this show due to the dubious qualifications of the judges whilst this series of X-Factor is a long way removed from the first series of Pop Idol as it no longer firstly & foremost about the musical/vocal talent of the contestants and is much more about the judges egos and the sob stories.

Quite frankly I could not give one $h!t about whether a contestant's pet hamster has died (I bet if that did happen it would be used as a sob story) or the so called clash of egos between Dannii v Cheryl (two musical heavyweight I don't think) or Simon v Louis as it is as contrived and about as real as Kylie's less talented sister's breasts.

I felt very sorry last night for Diana, I bet she was pressured by the programme makers to put on those tears as if she was "acting" in Kerry Katona's god awful MTV Reality show as it made very uncomfortable viewing.

That is why you had Peter Kay's recent creation that hit the bullseye for a lot of us who watch this show. I want Diana to win, but I'd much rather see her finish third and have a successful career; but you know what I feel like joining the Geraldine McQueen; Chris Moyles & the "Rick (Astley) Rollers" campaign and help Daniel win X-Factor 2008 because that is exactly the result that Simon Cowell deserves for what he has done to destroy the concept of TV talent shows being all about talent.

I'm genuinley pissed off at last nights result.

I totally agree with you. They must be the same people who vote for the UKs song choice in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Why does Louis always have the last say who goes home. It should be done by rotation. In fact it should be on the public vote alone.

The bottom 2 for me last night were Daniel and Rachel. Daniel for the same reason as always and Rachel was totally out of tune last night.

Best for me last night were Laura & Alexandra and I voted for Laura.

What did anyone think of Mariah's performances. I hate her new single but I loved her singing Hero.

I have to say Get Well soon Diana  you were really missed last night.

It should now be Diana vs Alexandra in the final with Diana to win. All the rest are rubbish.

I think the travesty surrounding this whole thing is the show is used to promote Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell's ego. Louis simply choses who should do to get rid of competition for his bland boyband act, and then has the cheek to say how disgraceful the PUBLIC are for putting Daniel through when HE had the opportunity to get rid and fell for the sob story.

It amazes me, however, how two of the best vocalists in the competition can be put in the bottom two when the likes of the talentless Eoghan, Daniel and Rachel can sail through. Rachel worked sob story to the MAX last night, it was unbeleivably pathetic; those of you trying to say she has personality and never bleats on Jark maybe you should think of how she opened her VT: "IM DOING THIS FOR MY CHILDREN." "ITS MY CHILDRENS FUTURE". Blah, blah blah, i dont care, you cant BLOODY SING LOVE.

On the whole, yes, Ruth was 10x better than Laura in the singoff, but my anger just comes from the fact that:

- The judges are WRECKING this competition by making themselves feel better and promoting sob stories to hell

- Laura is overall a better singer shown week on week in the competition

- The public ARE to blame AS WELL, for putting through the likes of Daniel "Deadwife" Evans, Erghan and Rachel "CHILDREN FOREVER" Hylton.

Isn't there any love for Laura from last night

My top 5 was before yesterday

1-Laura

2-Diana

3-Alex

4-Rachel

5-Daniel

Now

1-Diana

2-Alex

3-Daniel

4-Rachel

5-JLS

And I'm not saying Ruth is rubbish because she isn't her performance last night of KOHD and PR from 3 weeks ago were stunning but her actual live show songs don't seem to match up. Tbh i'm not sure whether to like Ruth or not

 at James (and others of you) actually bothering to get upset over this contest. At the end of the day just to have got this far and to have got to perform in front of 10 million week-on-week, the contestants have had huge exposure. If a label head wanted to sign them, they could.

X Factor never has and never will be either real or fair, get over it...

Er...... I'm not upset because i know its just a reality tv show and everyone will go at some time BUT i'm just devastated at how Laura went out at this stage when she was 2nd fave to win the contest. :P

And she was my favourite :(

Let me dwell on past performances, Laura's performances in the first few weeks were exceptional and she had a good week, if I take Daniel for example he has been the weakest link from day 1, performances wise Laura shouldn't have been in the bottom 2, I know the piano kept playing for some reason when she got up. Rachel hit a few bum notes in her performance, I'm surprised the public didn't pick on that, Ughan was dire, it just goes to show that people are just tone deaf, its meant to be a talent competition not an advert for a domestos ad.

Laura was my favourite to win, now I'm backing Diana all the way, I hope she gets better this week as I fear she might get booted off. And I'm getting sick of Rachel's sob stories, kids that, kids this, its not just her that has kids in care, the show does not evolved around your personal life dear...

So you're not upset, but you are devasted... right.

I think Ruth should perform a Rockier sounding song next week as her 2 bottom 2 performances have been brilliant, and far superior to all of her over performances.

Ok i'm both  But just for Laura getting booted off i'm not upset about anything else ;)

Wow, thread 3 already. Anyway, awful results last night, even if i never did quite get the fuss over Laura.

I know there's a lot of Rachel-knockers (excuse my French) on Buzzjack - but.... if you're looking for genuine, raw, unhinged talent - well, love her or loathe her, she's got it. Her auditions were some of the finest I've ever seen on this show.

She's patently unstable and unhappy performing, though, and I don't think XFactor is the right avenue for her to be taking - but it's her last chance, really.

I think her voice shone when she sang 'Feeling Good' - her vocals suit either raw, dirty, bluesy numbers like this..... or diva-like grittiness a la Winehouse or 80s songstresses like Helen Terry and Carmel. To get her onstage singing lightweight pop like Robyn... it's totlly wrong and ill-judged, and it's little wonder she's failing miserably. She's a bona fide Gospel singer - give her something like this - watch her fly then.

Her song last night was wrong - it's a limp, insipid nothingness of a Phil Collins song (that Carey made even worse by singing with.... ugh... Westlife)... and her nerves were shred, it was obvious to see.

I hope getting through this week will give her her confidence back - because when she sings, Christ, she sings.

Also, on the subject of 'image' and Cowell's comments to Laura - why has nobody directed these same comments at Ruth? I know she has a phenomenal voice (when she sings her own choices)...but there's something hideously 80s about her - the scrunchy hair, the puffball skirts, the over-done make-up - the VT they show of her every week looks like an ad for an 80s power ballad collection - she reminds me of a cross between Jennifer Rush and Gloria Estafan - not a good comparison.

I'm loving this years X-Factor. I#'ve only watched about 20 minutes but it seems to be p***ing off many fans...

I love the comments about Daniel and guy with the weird name should go, god forbid people may actually LIKE a male vocal, not everyone fits the BuzzJack demographic! :drama:

call those 2 'male vocals'? ;) Eoghan couldn't sing his way out of a paper bag - and the gonk haircut just doesn't suit an Oompah Loompah, I agree with Louis Walsh (this must be the first time Walsh has said anything derogatory abaout a pubescent boy :P ).
