Chart Commentary: Week 167
It's the one hundred and sixty-seventh week of my personal chart, and to celebrate i've brought in a shiny new feature which lists my ten most played songs of the last week in convenient numerical order. Any and every song is accepted, be it album track, relative unknown or jazzy chart-topper so be sure to check that out. Back in the real chart (The only one that matters, let's face it), Maximo are still at no.1 but other than that it's a completely reshuffled top 5. Bombay Bicycle Club take a surprise leap to clinch 2nd place, Yeah Yeah Yeahs also climb into the top 3 with 'Heads Will Roll' and there's a new entry from chart debutants 'Slow Club' who tell us it doesn't always have to be beautiful - something i've learnt from experience. The rest of the chart seem to be dropping like flies, not least The Maccabees and Enter Shikari, both of whom found themselves sitting comfortably inside the top three just a mere fortnight ago. How times change. One other new entry in the top ten to report, and it's another chart debutant. 'Rabbit Heart' is the lead single from Florence's forthcoming album 'Lungs' and it's pretty good. It should see her score a top 5 debut, but in this chart nothing is guaranteed. Be sure to check out the video in this week's Video Vault.
