  1. Someone set a challenge last week for me to find a third picture of him with a similar pose, so that's what I did.
  2. Impressive you managed to find 2 pictures of Alex Warren in the near exact-same pose! Best get hunting for #3 this Friday.
  3. Welcome back Simon and Wishbone ash lol one for ageing prog rockers there! I must say i think im gathering more long dictionary words from your chart commentaries of late than i get from Suzy Dent on Cats Does Countdown! Abibliophobia the latest gem :)
  4. You're a substitute for another guy. You look really tall but your heels are high. Entertaining commentary anyway!
  5. The OCC has indeed described Tim Minchin as a multihyphenate. At least it’s a bit more accurate in his case.
  6. Maybe The Ks should get together with the remaining members of The Specials. I still can’t think of Showaddywaddy without hearing Hugh Dennis’s impression of Jimmy Savile saying their name.
  7. happy holiday Simon! I will not be using multi-hyphenate or any long words as I used to work for Local Government. "Keep it easy to understand" was the motto, before using many, many words like "Silo Culture" and starting sentences with "So". The former means not talking to colleagues across the organization about stuff and the latter means an attempt to sound smart while not sounding smart. So something to look forward to!
  8. I make that the longest wait for a number 1 by any dance act/creator. Given the generally short chart span of dance acts thats pretty impressive though being in a genre where you can draft in new young acts helps longevity. That said other acts that have a longer wait seem very middle aged when they did it - as per OCC and ignoring oldies hits: ozzy osbourne eric clapton michael ball!
  9. The Cure were mentioned here and in parts the Addison Rae song in the chart 'Fame Is A Gun' I think uses similar synths to their song 'The Walk'. Well done to James Marriott Hotel and Spa on the albums!
  10. The new album is fantastic! If I go, I will definitely go for a seat! Battle Abbey is the location of one of the most significant events in English history. Unfortunately, Yr 7 students don't quite get just how big a deal it is. It is the site of the last successful invasion of England, and it was almost 1,000 years ago. Most of the current Yr 7s will be alive for the 1,000th anniversary even if we are not. I wonder if Alex Warren will still ne number one by then.
  11. I went on a History trip to Battle Abbey yesterday. One of the History teachers had been to Hammersmith the previous night. She was about half our age and loved it! They are in Wolverhampton the day after we break up for summer. I'm still wondering whether to go.
  12. This article has some pictures of Alex, if you end up needing more 😅 https://www.spin.com/2025/06/alex-warren-is-anything-but-ordinary/
  13. I did my best for Sparks, actually buying the album, doh! If only they had beaten Sabrina by one sale....😮 I love Ordinary, and so do a lot of (I suspect) the fairer sex. Why? It's gloriously and unashamedly utterly romantic in a positive and uplifting production in an era when most singers seem to be rattling on about Me Me Me Me Me and how much they are miserable/happy to be free from the horrid Ex/everybody else. I'm thinking of setting up Granny's Letter Page for unhappy songwriters to ask for advice on their love-life and general misery....
  14. 11 blooming weeks for that Ordinary song! The album chart is more interesting. Sparks are very good, at least the tracks I know, wanted them to get the #1 :( Orbital are quite good too from what I've heard!
  15. Nancy Sinatra also paid tribute to Clem as a great person, friend and drummer - he was in her band back in her touring days. Dreaming is back in my charts along with 3 other Blondie tracks 3 of them drum-centred. Sadly theres already another veteran pop star who will pop in my chart too next week i bought one of his flop oldies 2 weeks ago coincidentally Dont Be Cruel: Mike Berry.
  16. Radio 1 have playlisted Sleep Token, so I'm sure they will play it!
  17. There was a compilation album called Hot Wax released in 1980 https://www.discogs.com/release/2112908-Various-Hot-Wax?srsltid=AfmBOorYt0AbSX9Eoqdg0pMLqKecETDk1w0v0oo9mI2gMdwq1nM0LG00 It reached No.3 in the charts https://www.officialcharts.com/albums/various-artists-hot-wax/
  18. I suggest keeping a distance from kids with bow and arrows - see Ghosts 😄
  19. Justice for '(Blame It On The) Pony Express'. Appropriately, both previous "Club" chart toppers were in 2010 - almost every song seemed to mention being in a clurrb then!
  20. I like the big picture now for these chart commentaries - Chappell looks amazing!
  21. "There is, however, one more new entry. Lola Young’s debut album This Wasn’t meant For You Anyway went almost unnoticed when it was released last year. It failed to reach even the top 100. However, the success of Messy, and a Brits performance, sees it make the chart at last at number sixteen." this wasn't meant for you anway is her 2nd album, her debut: my mind wanders and sometimes leaves completely, came out in 2023!
  22. Pink Pony Club is only the fourth number one single to mention the word pink in the title since the charts began
