Big Brother is back on channel 10 after 17 years! It’s even on their YouTube for anyone who wishes to watch particularly when UK finishes and they might have a void to fill, episodes get posted 24 hours after airing in Australia. Decent solid start, very much back to basics but in places does feel a little sterile, I’m a couple of episodes behind so we’ll see. I love Colin, Abiola, Coco, Alanna, Connor and Mia so far. I liked the simple launch twist of them not having their suitcases, naturally caused a bit of friction. I do hate that 2 out of 3 older people are horrid right wing anti woke lunatics though D:

So the triple win at top 5 is another new Canada innovation. It’s a bit like the triple roast/choreo/styling thing from France 3 that Lula won but its performance/looks/comedy and the format is each queen has to compete until they get a win and the last two queens are bottom 2 and must lipsync. Also for the design/snatch game there may be a queen who gets a “disadvantage” and has to do both, it would have been camp if they won both lol

Drag Race UK loves a two badge queen not making the finale as well - Dakota, A’Whora and Bonnie. The former two being very much questionable, it sounds like Bonnie’s is not lol

Stopped watching weeks ago but would love Teja to win as she’s a Bristol girl but mostly she is absolutely lush and for an 18 year old, really astute and a great representation for young people and left wing people. She held her own against people, always stayed firm and had a fair discussion when to be fair I don’t think I could with the likes of George and Caroline! If more of the upcoming generation of young adults were like her we’d have a bright bright future. Can’t help feeling like she’ll be a shock 5th/6th.

Omg Blush lol, I think the band was TP4Y or something and it did get rescinded I remember like maybe 4 or 5 of us myself included hyped it up and you weren’t supposed to reveal your entry but at the time people were doing basically “national finals” and it was an open secret basically what people entered anyway so we all felt it was unfair and it did get overturned. One I remember as well is like 8 people including me trying to enter Water Under The Rocks by Faye so it got vetoed and never ended up getting sent afaik, I think similar happened with Billie - Give Me The Knife

Tayris and Sally was about the only good one, I thought Nyongbella did turn Sound Of The Underground and Pearls too but that’s it

Episode 9’s lipsync doesn’t fare much better, Tayris is said to have a Mirage esque “meltdown” Winner of the season seems to be very likely as the other queen loses a heel in the lipsync and ripped her dress with the scepter during crowning and it looks the winner is: Bones

Some extra potential tidbits, not much as of yet: Format is lipsync for your legacy The makeover is with the Pit Crew Raven is a guest judge alongside Josh Cavallo and Beks whoever that is Flor is eliminated on an acting challenge Lala is eliminated at the makeover Lala wins girl groups Also Nicole is possibly first out, her and Coco are in the bottom and she quite due to “Coco deserving it more” lol, this is from a source with a mixed history so pinch of salt

What are they even trying to do with Ravi, he would so well as an anti hero type especially now he’s got Priya, but they’ve dragged him down into this cuckooing storyline. A kind of morally gray criminal who was doing it for his family you kind of root for is an interesting character arc.

The lipsync is Song 4 Mutya and I’m sure I saw that Catrin doesn’t know much of it but Bonnie basically knows none, I’ve wanted a lipsync to that for ages so it’s a shame it gets wasted :( Everyone also apparently does pretty well except Bonnie who bombs but Bones is the clear winner, so it’s one of those weeks where she just bombs totally and I guess there’s no saving her.

I just keep thinking about Christmas 2023, how all year led up to it and it was such an event which the big Christmas soap episode should be! This year we’re in November and there’s not a single inkling of what might happen, if anything. I know who whacked Cindy wasn’t exactly classic but at least they kind of built up Cindy making everyone hate her and burning every bridge, it was a culmination of the affair storyline and it had two big families in the centre of it. The only thing I can think of is something to do with Zoe’s child/baby dad and nobody cares a jolt about that atm.

I feel like it’s just cut content (like a post game or side mode) rather than a proper DLC, say what you want about Scarlet and Violet but we got basically two mini campaigns that tied up the story/added to it. To charge £30 for what appears to be some roguelike wild zones (not even new areas it’s just the city with a filter on) is kind of crazy but I will enjoy getting new megas etc.

I think they’re trying to give Bones a “she came out of her shell” journey edit but it’s not really working because frankly she is mid at basically the show expects of you everything except looks. This is VERY season 3 right down to her being Krystal. Obviously this is just my opinion so may still be biased but my judging allowed Paige to still stay and built her more of a solid run, plus we got longer of Nyongbella and everyone got wins by episode 7. I do think the cast is just not built for a great season but I think keeping Paige and Nyongbella in particular Episode 1: Paige win Episode 2: Sally win, Pasty sent home by Viola Episode 3: Tayris win, viola sent home by Sally (not sure she’d win this lipsync but hey) Episode 4: Catrin win, Sillexa sent home by Bones Episode 5: Elle win, Chai sent home by Bones Episode 6: Elle and Paige win, Sally sent home by Nyongbella (unfortunately I don’t think there’s any saving Sally from this episode but the lipsync is not Nyongbella’s wheelhouse I guess either) Episode 7: Bonnie win, Nyongbella sent home by Bones (I think Nyong could feasibly do something for SG that could be worse than Paige’s Alexa idk like an “at least she tried to have a concept” low for Paige) Doesn’t solve the problem of Elle and Bones being dull and I don’t think it saves the season, but Paige felt like a bit of a heart of the season and these last couple of episodes will be even more of a slog.
