Lindsey Buckingham: 4 singles in the midweek top 100 and 3 albums in the midweek top 25! That guy’s a legend. First time I’ve ever heard Buckingham/Nicks and it’s a great album! And great to see a 52 year old album finally charting, and with very healthy sales.

unless someone beats me to asking this: roughly where does this place ‘Careless Whisper’ in the all time list?

I’m not certain - but I think it still counts as Premium because it’s part of Amazon Prime, right? And I assume that’s why Amazon has such a huge impact at Christmas. Because it force feeds certain songs to people with Amazon Prime - but because they don’t have Amazon Music Unlimited, they can’t select which songs they play.

‘Tango…’ is my favourite Fleetwood Mac album and in fact one of my favourite albums of all time. And even though some of the tracks weren’t successful as singles - it was still one of the biggest selling albums of the 1980s - in fact the 7th biggest seller - more, for example, than True Blue. I do agree that love for FM has continued to grow - and crossed generations.
  5. Loving ‘Seven Wonders’. Still surprised to see it going platinum. I’ve made some comments about it on the certifications page. These two songs would definitely have had some votes from me if they had been in the poll.

Glad to see Seven Wonders going platinum when it flopped on release. The singles from Tango In The Night had a weird pattern of successs alternating between big hit and big flop: 9 - 56 - 5 - 54 - 4 - 60 The failure of ‘Seven Wonders’, the second single from the album, was bizarre - as it’s a great track. The 4th single ‘Family Man’ was a dud. But ‘Isn’t It Midnight’ - the last single – was also a brilliant song, but being the 6th release it was no surprise that it flopped. Of course ‘Everywhere’ was destined to be a massive success, hence being the highest peak of all of the singles, despite being the 5th release - and as we now know, it is now one of the biggest selling singles of all time.

Locomotion is bizarre. As a 1988 release it deserved a silver certification for 250,000 sales (I think) but this was never applied for. But glad it has finally picked up its silver certification for post-1994/digital sales.
  8. They embrace it. When some friends realised that I could name a lot of songs from the 1st second or 2, made this into a game whilst we were in the car. What they didn’t realise is that I actually realised what was going to come next on the playlist before they played it 🤣 Then I have friends like @Jessie Where who are similar to me, and we can discuss and debate chart rules and regulations. And I handle their disinterested when I feed them a really (un) interesting fact about chart history 🤣

  10. B*gger. Just seen this - as I’ve been so busy with limited internet. Sia and Carrie would have been high up and therefore probably qualified for the next round. But… bring on the final! (Please give us a couple of weeks to vote )

  12. Pay attention Jessie! We get this all the time 😁
  13. Pink Pony Club for number 1 (again)! Or at least back to its favourite position of number 2!
  14. Hmmm. But will Alex decline by less than the market?
  15. Fleetwood Mac coming for Weeknd’s crown! Top 4 very soon - and will they catch Sam Fender before anyone else overtakes them?
