  1. A nice surprise! Looking forward to hearing it - it's out at midnight.

  3. This part amused me! The five members discuss band matters regularly via a private WhatsApp group, figuring what might be possible for the milestone. “And there are subgroups within the group,” says Chisholm, laughing. “I definitely know there is a chat group that doesn’t contain me, but somewhere else we keep Ginger or Posh out. Like all friendship groups, we have many ways of communicating.”
  4. From the new interview with Sunday Life: Chisholm [...] is in the process of adding the final touches to an album she’s been working on for the last two years with English producer Richard “Biff” Stannard, who’s written many songs for Kylie Minogue. “My new album has been a real labour of love,” says Chisholm. “It’s uplifting and I’ve had a lot of fun in the dance genre. I am leaning into the club world and my sporty side, which taps into different aspects of my personality.” Chisholm has relished watching Kylie’s career boom as the Aussie singer has traversed her 50s, hence her decision to team with Stannard for her own club renaissance. “Biff helped push Kylie even further into the stratosphere – it’s been amazing to see,” she says.
  5. It'll be interesting to see which The Sound of Girls Aloud released songs are lumped in with Chemistry. The aforementioned Singapore indeed belongs to the third album demo sessions, so it's perfect to include, but what about... Something Kinda Ooooh The Crazy Life Money I Think We're Alone Now [I wonder if their team will remember there was an original album version, or if they'll only consider the single mix?] Why Do It (+ remixes of Something Kinda Ooooh and I Think We're Alone Now) It would feel a bit odd to me if those 2 singles are retroactively packaged with Chemistry*. I'm not convinced they'd re-release The Sound of Girls Aloud though, even though it is their best selling release (and seeing that artwork on vinyl would be a hoot x). So if it's the only way for SKO and ITWAN to have their moment in the reissues, I'll accept them on Chemistry. [I would then be disappointed if they're only on the CD but not on the vinyl though, because I'd love to have Something Kinda Ooooh on vinyl]. I wonder what else could be on Chemistry? Maybe songs we don't even know about. There's also an unreleased version of What a Feeling that could be included! * It wouldn't be the first time they've awkwardly shoehorned Something Kinda Ooooh and I Think We're Alone Now on a release of theirs. The albums box set from 2013 included them (and Something New) on the B Sides disc!

Loving this. Come on sombr, where's the album!
  7. A larger image of this release, which is hopefully coming later this year: Product description and track list from Amazon, which I don't think we knew about last year? "The Girls Aloud Christmas album, originally part of 2005’s Chemistry: Deluxe Edition, will be released this November on CD! The album has been beautifully remastered with a new definitive track listing and its original intended title - Christmas ‘Round At Ours. 8. It's been a long wait but it seems we're finally getting Chemistry on vinyl 😍😭 "Chemistry (Deluxe Edition) [Vinyl]" has appeared on Rarewaves with a release date of 26th September! https://www.rarewaves.com/products/0602478280238-chemistry-deluxe-edition Sound of the Underground reissue was announced on 27th April 2023 and released on 16th June 2023. What Will the Neighbours Say? reissue was announced on 18th January 2024 and released on 8th March 2024. Both of those had 50 days on pre-order - if the same is true for Chemistry then it should be officially announced on 7th August!

Bop! Currently #1 on New Music Friday UK but I guess it'll be pushed down once Chappell has released. Very promising for incoming playlist support, I hope!

A highlight from the album, a great choice as a single

The soundtrack is full of bangers; Golden isn't my ultimate favourite from it (What It Sounds Like is probably my top song) - but I'm happy to see Golden being so successful. Coming for #1 in the UK and being #2 in the US is phenomenal!
  13. I wonder how she felt about that line, alongside one of her songs being on the soundtrack! Seeems like a slap in the face.
  14. It’s a combination of her label not bothering to apply for a certification back then (which is how it was done) and not yet having sold 200,000 since 1994. (The “since 1994” thing made Especially for You’s recent-ish Platinum certification a head scratcher!)
  15. Just in time for its 40th anniversary (omg at the idea of the song being this old someday)
