Posted March 23, 201213 yr http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j211/Arrs-/ru-ingri.gif Yep, our population held a referendum and decided that we're now called like that! We're opening our thread just before the new round of the song contest. Our national languages are Russian, Finnish and Estonian, but due to our placement we're very open to everybody culture-wise. Capital City: Terijoki Population: about 7 million people Music-wise we're into dance and electro, even if it's generic as hell. But we have a lot of talents of all genres so don't be surprised by anything. :D We are in the north-east of Europe, on the east coast of the Baltic Sea. We'll be holding our national final shortly but the odds tell that the song with the vocalist of the Russian descent has very high chances! :D Songs sent by Ingermanlandia: 43: Orbital feat. Zola Jesus - New France. #12 44: A*M*E feat. Bartoven - City Lights. #14 45: Woodkid - Run Boy Run. #1 46: Ingrid Michaelson - In the Sea. #16 47: Arty & BT feat. DNQ (#17 semi-final) 52: didn't participate 53: NONONO - Pumpin Blood. #5 54: Shola Ama - Boyfriend. #23 55: Peking Duk - The Way You Are. March 24, 201213 yr Damn it, it's pretty much confirmed now there's gonna be another Russian in BJSC. I guess I will need to cash in a favour one hitman I know owes me.
March 24, 201213 yr Just gotta say. I love love LOVE that flag Arrs. :D I think I need a revamp of my flag to be fair... Welcome to BJSC. :D
March 25, 201213 yr Author Thank you for the greetings. :D By the way, Ingermanlandia EXISTED, although unofficially, between 1918 and 1920 and its "capital" was in the village which doesn't even exist now. Basically my city, St.-Petersburg, is on the territory of that non-existant country. The English translation of Ingermanlandia is Ingria. And that is their REAL flag. The "capital" is Terijoki (which translates as "resin river" from Finnish to English), currently named "Zelenogorsk" (and that translates as "town of green mountains" from Russian to English  ). That was a small historic excursion about the country. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j211/Arrs-/s640x480.jpg

May 6, 201213 yr Author Yes, this round we are VERY pop and sending a fashionista dance-pop record by self-claimed "Princess of Pop" A*M*E! And this is the new single by Keish.... her. It's by far isn't that good as 'City Lights', but still nevertheless very cute! BE7lxzinPoY Edited May 6, 201213 yr by Arrs
June 5, 201213 yr Author Yeah, this time Ingermanlandia is sending a wonderful artist that is Woodkid who is not only a music composer but actually initially a video director! He's French, so no wonder that his first video was Yelle's "Ce Jeu". He also directed "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry and "Born to Die" by Lana del Rey among others, as well as the videos for his own songs, "Iron" and "Run Boy Run". We considered sending "Iron" but then thought that it was too old for the contest, so we decided to look up whether he had a new song out. And YES, he had!And what a song! It's already one of the year's best for me. And accidentally we clashed with Batidas who decided to change their entry to 'Run Boy Run' too but now we sorted everything out and YAY, good luck to us both! :D Here you go: Iron vSkb0kDacjs Run Boy Run lmc21V-zBq0
June 19, 201213 yr Let me do it here rather than to get lost in the Results thread : Congratulations on your winning!! It was a bit unexpected for me but great nonetheless. And with a male vocalist as well (which seems to be impossible on Buzzjack). Now you're gonna have to host this bitch next, hehe. Congrats again ^_^
June 19, 201213 yr And accidentally we clashed with Batidas who decided to change their entry to 'Run Boy Run' too but now we sorted everything out and YAY, good luck to us both! :D  You got there first fair and square. I only discovered the track a couple of days after confirmations opened. Really glad you got your first BJSC win with such a brilliant song. :D Looking forward to going to Ingermanlandia for next month's BJSC. Ohh, didn't realise he directed the video to 'Born To Die'. :o
June 20, 201213 yr Author Thank you VERY much for congratulations! Woodkid is indeed a music video director, and that explains that powerful video for 'Run Boy Run' and 'Iron' also. I shall have a VERY hard time with the next contest for two reasons: 1. I'm not even GOING to bother about beating or even equalling Pavel in graphical presentation; 2. I don't have any songs to send. Well, I have but I'm not passionate about them, and that's the problem. All three previous entries from me were very inspired.
July 27, 201212 yr Author I decided to update this thread with my REJECTS of the past contests! It's not all of them, and there are hell a lot of the songs that I've also missed out, butstill here you go! I'm posting them her because I'll never enter them anyway so they will be put at least somewhere! BJSC 47 Reject: Minno - Dance with Me Nice enough song but a sure-fire DNQ! OarAxDEz7UU BJSC 46 Reject: Steve Aoki - Beat Down I can now admit that I rejected this one purely because I heard Pavel's D E N A, and they're both of the same vein! And given that D E N A is much better I didn't want to get overshadowed. A6IAFUzmgSU BJSC 45 Reject: Saint Etienne - I've Got Your Music It's BRILLIANT and very BJ-friendly but it's too well-known and now too old. But what do I say actually when SIOBHAN DONAGHY came 4th last contest with 'MEDEVAC'? And besides, it competed with Woodkid for entering and I definitely made the right choice! I fully recommend to watch the video who haven't seen it, as it's new and it's FAB. 3MQmsHPwLvU BJSC 46 Reject: Toddla T feat. Shola Ama - Alive Another nice entry but not nice enough! JbWhDvIfVEA
April 14, 201312 yr Author BUMP! I didn't participate in BJSC 52 purely because of two reasons: 1. Me being v-busy whore; 2. not having anything to send But for this contest I had not one or two - but three contenders. I opted with a feel-good 'Pumpin Blood' which all of you are going to hear in the actual contest. But if I chose one of my runners up it'd be my campest song EVER. JFNg97D6aiw And the other one is too good and I'll maybe send it later so won't showcase it as of today. :kink:
May 5, 201312 yr Author I had wanted to send the adorable Sara Bareilles song to BJSC 54 until it got top-10 in US iTunes AND I found my current entry! But just in case everyone have a listen to this, it's absolutely amazing: xwTr_CRw3GY
September 22, 201311 yr Author After a DNQ and a two contests absense we came back with a major FLOP! :cheer: We are having a lot of potentials that we love but they all scream borderline qualifiers. If anyone can help I'll be very thankful!
