Posted May 13, 201213 yr Released on iTunes today. Includes three tracks - 'Set You Free', 'Sunrise' & 'Walk Away', all produced by Jodie Harsh. 'Set You Free' is currently in the 70s area of UK iTunes (due to EP sales), which is rather miraculous for Melanie. She's never gone as high as this on iTunes before! I don't think all that much of the first two tracks, but 'Walk Away' is lovely. First YouTube link is a full song, the next two are clips. 9gvEEiD_A4E -C6Qz8tJGvU lEuKvHFrYf0
May 13, 201213 yr just purchased , im a big Melanie fan and am enjoying these new tracks! Set You Free is my fav so far!
May 13, 201213 yr Everything about this is very cheap, but the songs are good. Sunrise is my favourite.
May 13, 201213 yr Everything about this is very cheap, but the songs are good. Sunrise is my favourite. I have long been a Spice Girls/Mel C loon from my days of camping [Literally! ] outside TV studios for the SGs back in the day! For collection purposes iv always bought everything the girls have released although this is the first Mel C stuff iv actually really liked for ages and she can be forgiven for the cheapness of this project she releases on her own label and her last 3 albums and recent tour bombed so she must be relying on SG royalties to fund her releases
May 13, 201213 yr Walk Away sounds nice. The other 2 are pretty dire though... Is Jodie Harsh a drag queen?
May 14, 201213 yr Author ^ Yep! ~~~ 'Sunrise' has grown on me, has a bit more to it than 'Set You Free'.
May 13, 20232 yr Happy 11th year anniversary of The Night! :cheer: Recorded as part of The Sea sessions and released exclusively on iTunes exactly 11 years ago, it's still only available on iTunes & Apple Music. What's your favorite track from the EP? Mine is Set You Free. r7YJOkQ5fH0
August 22, 20231 yr Track by Track Set You Free The lead track introduces the EP with light dub-step moments and thrusts into full-on hands in the air synths and a tight kick drum. Through big anthemic vocals Melanie sings about the freedom you feel in that perfect dance floor moment – blinded by lights, drowning in the music, feeling the love from your friends. Sunrise It's immediately apparent this song is inspired by nights out in Ibiza. The track boasts a big-room sound with a killer beat and chopped up vocals. Girl meets boy, dances the night away, boy looks just as great in the sunlight the following day. A holiday romance and a real peak-time dance floor moment. Walk Away Taking things a little slower, the final song narrates the organic end to a relationship and the weight it brings off your shoulders...a sigh of relief and a 'change of atmosphere'. Mid-tempo and orchestral, it's a dramatic ending to the EP with it's big hip hop drum and a epic build.
August 22, 20231 yr It was very meh, considering both Mel has released far better songs and Jodie has since produced some real bangers + The Sea was much stronger melody-wise (and that was the most recent standard for that, at least for me).
