JLS down from #19 to #70 :o

I'm not really keen on their music but they don't deserve such a huge drop

Gary Barlow climbing to number 2 officially in the singles chart :cheer: I really expected number 3 the highest this week. So great to see him back as a solo artist and doing so well, number 2 in the albums is great.

Annoying postion for Boyzone, not really the best way to follow up a string of #1 studio albums dating back almost 20 years! Oh well, I guess I should be surprised that they're even still relevant enough to be getting top tens, especially at this busy time of the year! The single seems to have held up well too for what to all intents and purposes should probably have been a fanbase buy!

Great week for Gary Barlow, fully deserved :cheer: Double Slade in the top 100 next week?

Beatles dropped to #46 in the albums, was expecting a larger drop so that's cool!

Artpop down to #24?! oh dear! :(

-x-

Double Slade in the top 100 next week?

Double me? :o :kink:

Edited by Slade

Celine Dion holding up very well, i never in a million years expected Celine to out sell Lady Gaga.

This should be the year Mariah Careys All I Want For Christmas becomes a million seller, in my estimates she is only about 60,000 away with this weeks sales included

Oh dear. Artpop lower than Keane and Cliff (!) Released on the same week with not much promo/new material to even back them up vs. Gaga. Also Bubles Xmas album well higher than his new one, he may live to regret doing an Xmas album if it kills the new one every year!

Mad domination of both charts by 1D, interesting in chart terms whatever you think of them.

Well 'To Be Loved' is the 2nd highest selling album of the year so I'm sure he's fine :P

~

Unrelated observation: Rod Stewart's 'Some Guys Have All The Luck' is at #75 this week, marking a full year inside the top 75 since the start of the 2010s without a single week in the top 40. (It did of course make the top 40 before 2010, but still only made it to #19). Its highest position in the decade is #41 in late 2010, the same week 'Fly Me To The Moon... The Great American Songbook Volume V' was released. All 52 of those weeks were in either 2010 or 2013 though, it made the top 100 but not the top 75 in 2011 and 2012.

Thinking about the albums top ten, all of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Eminem, Boyzone, Elvis and Celine could have conceivably been charting together at some point in the 90s too! Impressive ongoing/renewed relevance for all involved there :D
