Posted December 25, 201311 yr So we know that Midnight Memories is the third single, after the recent X Factor performance of it. How do we think it will fare? Will its video and airplay help make it their 10th consecutive top 10? Watch the X Factor performance here: https://youtu.be/g5OrUrgys8Y Something seemed pretty off with the mics there during the chorus  Fairly sure it was lacking some Zayn vocals. The verses sounded great though. Got such a minimal boost but then everything did in the final for some odd reason.
December 25, 201311 yr I can't wait to see how this is going to do! Hopefully another top 5 for them (think it's possible). The song's grown on me so much as well. The chorus, Zayn, everything about it is fab.
December 25, 201311 yr Author I'd say top 10 is most likely, seeing as One Thing and Kiss You "only" managed #9. Hopefully it'll have great longevity like the latter though!
December 26, 201311 yr This is easily one of my favourites so I hope it's not dropped as a single after the small boost it got from X Factor. Also, the X Factor performance was where I 'got' Harry, never been more attracted to him EVER.
December 26, 201311 yr Author He did look absolutely GORGEOUS in that performance, more so than normal. Think they'll still be pushing it, they performed it on US X Factor during the week too (not that that would've given it any significant boost ).
December 26, 201311 yr He did look really fantastic there. (not as much as Zayn, mind :kink:) I doubt they'll drop this though, think it'll maybe be a late January or early February release before pressing on with the next album.
December 26, 201311 yr Really becoming one of my firm favourites from them. This will be a similar sized hit to 'Kiss You' I think.
December 27, 201311 yr I think I'd have preferred 'Happily' but I do like the song and the X-Factor performance was OK.
December 27, 201311 yr Just listened to the studio version of this for the first time and it definitely breaks their '3rd single of the era is best' run - although it is decent, there's just something a bit flat about it, I couldn't tell you what though (I do hate that annoying guitar break after 'MIDNIGHT MEMORIES' when they say 'ohhh' though, it really ruins the chorus somehow).
December 29, 201311 yr The boys have been filming the video for this at the Tower Bridge in London! http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2951570.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/One-Direction-Video-shoot-2951570.jpg Undoubtedly they are the five most precious princes in pop so when it came to filming a death defying stunt for new video Midnight Memories, team One Direction were taking no chances. Filming at London's iconic Tower Bridge on Saturday night the hunky fivesome didn't look bothered by their stunt - despite the dizzying heights and plummeting temperatures. The beautiful fivesome that make up One Direction were spotted hanging from Tower Bridge on Saturday night as they filmed scenes for their new video. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik were seen standing on the infamous landmark as a helicopter filmed them from above. Wrapped up in coats, jackets and cardigans, the boys looked as dapper as ever as they sang and danced above the city horizon and waved up at the chopper above. The boys are filming for a song from their world-famous album, Midnight Memories.
January 13, 201411 yr I'd go for You and I or even Diana over Midnight Memories. Still, it's better than some of the others like Right Now and Little White Lies, so it could be worse.
January 13, 201411 yr 'Diana' would have been an excellent single choice  A Zayn-centric song and video is obviously a good decision for the group :kink:
January 24, 201411 yr Author EP up for pre-order in some countries (not the UK yet) http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music/v4/4f/f2/99/4ff29932-9c86-e2a3-31dc-3f1c306a96c5/886444366106.600x600-75.jpg 1. Midnight Memories 2. Story of My Life (Live X Factor Performance) 3. Rock Me (Live Version From the Motion Picture "One Direction: This Is Us") 4. C'mon, C'mon (Live Version From the Motion Picture "One Direction: This Is Us") Australian release date is Friday 7th March so I presume it'll be Sunday 9th here. Feels like ages away but I was starting to think they'd forgotten about this entirely so good to see they're cracking on again.
January 24, 201411 yr So glad we're getting info about this now, can't wait! I suppose it'll be March so that 'Story of My Life' has fully died down by then.
January 25, 201411 yr So glad we're getting info about this now, can't wait! I suppose it'll be March so that 'Story of My Life' has fully died down by then. Yeah, I'm surprised it's still going in the US! This gives it a chance to peak on airplay, will be interesting to see if 'Midnight Memories' can keep the momentum going in America (I'm still not huge on it). Feels like ages since the video was filmed, hopefully it gets a BRITs performance too (if they're not already confirmed?)!
January 25, 201411 yr Every time I listen to the album it grows on me more and more, so I expect this will be massive and could attract a lot of cross-over, much like 'Story of My Life' seems to have done. Hopefully there's a BRITs performance in store as well, would be a good opportunity to show the song off before release
January 25, 201411 yr Aside from Louis (and I don't think Zayn is looking his very very best) I love love love that cover and the whole styling the artwork has had this era. One Direction @onedirection 3h ... Just one more thing! The OFFICIAL #MidnightMemoriesVideo will go LIVE on Friday at 4pm GMT! :) 1DHQ x We're getting some gif previews in the meantime. :D
January 25, 201411 yr Louis always looks terrible, no matter where he is or what it's for. :kink: Cannot wait for the video, gonna be amazing (the filming pics of Zayn have been lovely so far )
