Good evening, I'm Eric Saade, here to present the Andra Chansen results of Buzzjackfestivalen 2014! Tonight we have eight songs, two of which will go through two duels to join the final that will take place in Ashton. The duels are as follows:

Duel 1

Bignia-Zaragovina: Robin - Kesärenkaat vs. Espen: Zahed Sultan - I Want Her But I Don't Want Her

Duel 2

N DNTN: Bayou - Airlock vs. Botanikka: Gjira / Argjentina - Deja Vu

-

Duel 3

Bellamia: Hunter Hayes - Tattoo vs. Farahtyn: Tim Schou - Supernova

Duel 4

Greenfroze: Maria Taylor - Cartoons and forever plans vs. Sandénia: Jetta - Crescendo

-> Winner of Duel 1 vs. Winner of Duel 2

-> Winner of Duel 3 vs. Winner of Duel 4

The voting is a 50/50 split between AC participants and other Buzzjackfestivalen participants who form a jury. Everyone voted so each duel is voted on by six AC participants (as you can't vote in your own duel) and 14 jury members. To get the weighting right, the AC participant preferences are worth 7 points and the jury preferences are each worth 3 points so in total each side can dish out 42 points! (In case you don't quite follow it's a matter that only has to be applied to one duel, all other results were clear)

The jury is formed of Altyr Muunilinst, Ashton, Daehun, Danaelanda, D'yermak'er, Florina, FSR Rontvia, Harmonica, Oslol, Persephonia, Quintessa, Sandebörg, Seyetana & Trifoski.

Results shall begin in a little over 30 minutes (with one duel presented at a time), feel free to speculate until then. :D

Oh!

I was literally in the middle of voting in this - sorry, I've clearly got my dates wrong. :/

Basically has to be N DNTN and Farahtyn, both are stupidly superior to everything else in their respective halves. Will accept Espen/Botanikka Qing as well but the rest just need to not.

Bignia are the only ones i'm fairly sure will make it (inevitably at the unfortunate expense of the best song in AC), the duels in the 2nd group could possibly go any way!

Starting with the first duel then, Bignia-Zaragovina vs. Espen

Bignia get off the mark by leading 5-1 with the AC participants (for transparency they were ranked higher by Farahtyn, Sandénia, Bellamia, Greenfroze & Botanikka)

The jury also favoured Bignia by a vote of 8-6 (FSR Rontvia, Altyr, Quintessa, Seyetana, Daehun, Oslol, Sandeborg & Ashton)

Bignia Zaragovina - 59 PTS

Espen - 25 PTS

Robin advances and will face the winner of N DNTN vs. Botanikka. :cheer:

N DNTN vs. Botanikka

The jury vote was an equal 7-7 split (Altyr, Florina, Seyetana, Danaelanda, Persephonia, Trifoski & D'yermak'er were the seven for N DNTN)

So it comes down to the AC participants who swing towards ... Botanikka, 5-1! (Espen being the lone vote for N DNTN)

Botanikka - 56 PTS

N DNTN - 28 PTS

Botanikka will face off with Bignia later on but Bellamia vs. Farahtyn are up next.

With both Espen and N DNTN now out, I really think this could be Trifoski's to lose... unless something else that would appeal strongly to the indie-bloc has made it through the other heats?

I've always seen 'Sweet Ophelia' as the sort of wide-appealing big favourite tbh (could be wrong there, but that one really seems like the 'safe bet' to me)

Bellamia vs. Farahtyn

A jury vote of 8-6 gives the advantage to Farahtyn (preferred by Florina, Seyetana, Danaelanda, Persephonia, Trifoski, Daehun, Ashton & D'yermak'er)

Can that be overturned? Sadly for Joseph, 5-1 for Farahtyn says no. :( (Sandénia were the one to vote Hunter)

Farahtyn - 59 PTS

Bellamia - 25 PTS

Tim Schou will now face the winner of Greenfroze vs. Sandénia

I'm ignoring that one as it will be another FLJ 'what could have been' entry!

Plus John winning twice in a row would be simply intolerable. He would be impossible.

Wide appeal doesn't seem to matter too much in BJFest, it seems to be extremely pop oriented.

Greenfroze vs. Sandénia

Starting off 4-2, Sandénia are in the lead (Bellamia & Espen voted for Greenfroze)

One song thrashed the other in the jury vote, 10-4, and that song was ... Sandénia! They're through to face Farahtyn.

Sandénia - 58 PTS

Greenfroze - 26 PTS

Now we can begin the second round of duels and find out who our finalists are. :o

I don't think that's true... it's just that everyone loses interest once they're knocked out.

The first one was won by Neon Neon if I recall correctly and I think the top two were both indie.

It depends entirely on the make up of the participants. Pop nations tend to be amongst our most enthusiastic so are more likely to vote at each stage and even participate in the first place.

I agree - and because of this the contest is very pop oriented. It was last time IIRC and it has been so far this time as well :P

Although where the votes *should* have been pop oriented (in Heat 1 where the best songs were Farahtyn, Ramrynia and FSR Rontvia), they weren't. Boo hiss.

Bignia vs. Botanikka

An interesting 3-3 tie on the AC participant side this time (Sandénia, Bellamia & Greenfroze ranked Bignia higher)

The first finalist tonight lies in the hands of the jury and by a 9-5 vote ... Robin gets the trip to Ashton! :cheer: (FSR Rontvia, Altyr, Florina, Quintessa, Seyetana, Daehun, Sandeborg, Ashton & D'yermak'er were all on his side)

Bignia Zaragovina - 48 PTS

Botanikka - 36 PTS

But who out of Farahtyn and Sandénia will join the Bignian delegation on the flight over??
