A pretty good show. Joe was the best imo, he did the song justice which I was pleasently suprised at. Olly was average which I was dissapointed with tbh. Stacey was really good as well. I though the song choice for Danyl was pretty dire, but the last part really proved why there is such hype about him. Danni's comment was discracful to say the least. She is there to judge his performance ffs and nothing more. She could only dream of being able to his the notes Danyl can. She could very well be sacked depending on how the media react.

Group performance confirmed for results show :cheer:

BEP's I Gotta Feeling :o

OOOOOh I was saying to my mum that "I miss the group performances that they used to do at the start of Pop Idol" i then went on a rant about how the structure of the first series of Fame Academy made it the best singing talent show ever.
OK so 10 of the 12 performed songs are now on the main I-Tunes chart. The only 2 that arent are the ones performed by Kandy Rain and John & Edward. Our bottom 2?

01 Miss Frank

02 Stacey

03 Rachel

04 Lucie

05 Joseph

06 Kandy Rain

07 Rikki

08 Olly

09 Lloyd

10 Jamie

11 Danyl

12 John & Edward

Miss Frank were spot on with their song choice and their harmonies, almost perfect performance that got kind of overlooked in my opinion. I do think they have the potential to make it far in the competition, hopefully the most successful girlgroup on the X Factor to date. ^_^. Stacey suprised me tonight, I've always liked her but not loved her but she owned that stage, great song choice and although she was a BIT nervous at times she was still really good.

Rachel had fantastic stage presence but like Miss Frank got overlooked, not the best song choice either ... she should be safe into next week though. Lucie was nice ... but it was a predictable and boring song choice, my least favourite Leona song and I agree with Simon that she couldn't really hit those high notes like she could. Joseph was the best of the boys and Kandy Rain were decent enough. Rikki was good too as was Olly.

Lloyd was boring dross, hasn't got much talent at all. Jamie reeked of pub singer dad type ... not that great at all. Don't even get me started on Danyl and his amazingly overrated shouty performance, the comment Dannii made was awkward and a bit odd but god talk about some people overreacting? Do I even have to say how bad the twins were really?

'I Gotta Feeling' group performance - NO! If it climbs again I will go crazy!

Media frenzy over the Dannii comment... oh dear!

My ranking:

01. Miss Frank

02. Stacey

03. Lucie

04. Joe

- - - - - -

05. Danyl

06. Rachel

07. Olly

08. Kandy Rain

09. Jamie

10. Rikki

11. Lloyd

12. John & Edward

Was a decent show overall, four stand outs. Joe really shocked me (like everyone) probably down to his song choice, I never realised how good that song was. :o My bottom four were totally unwatchable...or should I say unlistenable?

I hope Dannii doesn't get into to much trouble for her comment, I don't think she said it in a malicious way. Perhaps she assumed he was gay, rather than bisexual, which would have been weird - like Will Young singing about the only girl he needs in his first single. As she said it's been in the papers, so it's not like it was a huge secret.

If it goes back to #1 I shall hurl my computer out of the window :(

My ranking:

01. Miss Frank

02. Stacey

-------------

03. Joe

04. Lucie

------------

05. Danyl

06. Lloyd

07. Rachel

08. Olly

------------

09. Jamie

10. Rikki

11. Kandy Rain

12. John & Edward

Thought that Miss Frank were great tonight and that Shar really surprised me with her voice. Stacy was really nervous but i am really starting to like her.

i thought that Lucie would do better than she did but it was still good. Thought that Simon totally overreacted about Jamies performance.

i really dont like Danyl, but Danni was totally out of line with her 'joke' and has gave him a lot of extra votes.

Overall it was quite a weak first live show and i think that Kandy rain will be eliminated

01. Stacey Perfectly understated. Not the most earth-shattering voice, but very pleasant and lovely to listen to. And although the goofiness should p*** me off, it doesn't :( STACEY FOR QUEEN 8.5/10

02. Danyl Pretty boring to be honest through much off the song, but that last note was immense and rescued him. 7.5/10

03. Olly Not someone I expected to like, but I liked what he did with this. He managed to spark some personality into one of Robbie's blandest and wet tracks. 7.5/10

04. Jamie He wasn't bad at all, but there still remains the feeling that he's going to simply end up being the cheap Lenny Kravitz :( 7.5/10

05. Lucie I don't get what Simon was on about, "fantastic pop song", Footprints In The Sand is one of the most forgettable, drippy, bland and generic drivelfests of recent years, and certainly the weak link in Leona's short career to date. It was a poor choice of song for Lucie, because it DID demonstrate Lucie's shortcomings as a vocalist. She's good, but not THAT good. 6.5/10

06. Joe He still REALLY annoys me with his cheesy and wet persona - STRAP ON A PAIR. But he displayed a good voice tonight, even if I don't think it quite matched that song. Much as I hate drippy ballads, that's what Joe will be best at doing, he doesn't really have the character to pull off one of Robbie's more "cool" tracks. 6.5/10

07. Rachel Vocally, she was off in a lot in places. But she gets points because she seemed so comfortable up on stage, and you could really imaging her becoming a popstar. 6/10

08. Rikki I think he's being dismissed a bit unfairly. No he wasn't the most exciting performer, and he looked HORRENDOUS in that suit. But he sung the song perfectly fine, which isn't bad at this early stage. 5.5/10

09. Kandy Rain Not bad, but nothing special. I certainly doubt they'll ever be good enough to win this thing. It was a bit karaoke. And I agree with Dannii/Cheryl - they need to make their minds up what they want to be. If they want to be sluts, that's fine, but be upfront about it, don't expect to be taken seriously as singers. 5/10

10. Miss Frank I must have been listening to a different show to all of you guys, for I am in the minority. I thought they were AWFUL tonight, bum notes aplenty. Which is a shame because going into the live shows, I had high hopes for them.

I think they'll do better with an upbeat, contemporary number - I don't know WHAT Louis was thinking giving them this cheese, it's completely NOT what Miss Frank should be doing. 3.5/10

11. Lloyd Dreadful, which is a shame because I actually think overall he could be good. I was more annoyed with the judge's doing an Eggnog on him, and forgetting all the bum notes and praising him because he's only 16. 2/10

12. John & Edward TWATS. Going for the "entertainment" vote is all well and good, but you need to be likable to get away with it. They aren't. 0/10

01. Simon Despite his championing of the ridiculously dull Footprints In The Sand, Simon was as per usual the most on-the-ball judge tonight. Much as Dannii and Cheryl raised a valid point over Kandy Rain's uniforms, Simon was also right in that Dannii and Cheryl weren't the right people to be complaining given their style choices in their own pop careers.

02. Dannii She was doing SO WELL until that absolute car-crash moment. She clearly isn't going to hear the end of it for a while. Personally I don't think she meant to be malicious, and thought she was making nothing more than a witty little quip, but what an error in judgement.

But for the rest of the show, she was in fine form, and she's got a lot more to say than she did in series gone by.

03. Cheryl Still over-rated. Although like Dannii, she is becoming a little more opinionated, she still has an unfortunate habit of falling back into the critically useless "you're a really nice guy/girl/group, and I hope yous do well" nonsense.

04. Louis LOLZ at Louis telling Danyl he had no likability factor when he's still trying to champion those idiot Oirish morons.

The last two performances I watched, before going out:

Joe - No Regrets 9.0

What a completely unexpected surprise. That was a really good performance that came out of nowhere. A perfect song choice vocally for him, even if it obviously lacked the underlining menace of the Robster's original. So Cheryl does possess one good act.

Danyl - And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going 5.0

I hate Danyl, he is just an obnoxious queen who looks like he is battling with diarrhea when he performs. And that unneccessary showboating note at the end = w*n**r. WTF Simon do you expect from Dannii's comments - he performing a gay feminist anthem; and it never stopped you making continuous innuendo comments about Louis Walsh = Hypocrite.

I think I was the only one NOT shocked with Joe - my easy favourite going into the finals, and I put 10 quid on him to win at 10/1 - glad I did as his odds will surely shorten now?

I think Dannii and Cheryl were both unnecessarily harsh tonight - especially about Kandy Rain. They know better than anyone that the acts don't just pick out what they are going to wear themselves. It's Louis and Fay that will decide. Though I do concur that those two should have covered them up.

Re: the Danyl comment, I wasn't especially offended, as he's told the papers, it was just awkward. However I'm sure she didn't mean it especially badly. Have watched it twice now and I think it was a genuine constructive point that she was making for authenticity. I kinda agree, I liked it when McFly left the line 'hope my boyfriend don't mind it' in I Kissed A Girl, even though they all have girlfriends.

Also it sickens me how easily Simon can manipulate the show - why should they draw out what order the acts go on - girls, groups, overs, boys and then Simon say 'actually I want to change the order so Danyl can be on last?'. Shouldn't be allowed.

Four I really liked, two I truly LOVED, but I felt like it wasn't really a great first show..

01. Stacey - For this stage in the competition, utterly superb. For Dannii to choose this for her first week was brave but INSPIRED. Had a very live lounge feel! Wasn't flawless, some of the high notes weren't strong but it was gorgeous.

02. Joe - Just brilliant, totally effortless and he made me LOVE a song of Robbie's I don't even like. It just built and built and was beautifully sung. He was my favourite already but still VERY impressed.

03. Miss Frank - Not their finest hour but still very good. All had a couple of off moments, but all had a couple of good moments too. Wouldn't have chosen that song, want a bit more edge, but still very competent and a great group.

04. Rikki - Loved it, appreciate the jazzy thing is something alot don't like, I'm a bit alone on Rikki. GREAT song choice, loved some of the melody switch ups, my kind of thing, he can do better but his voice shone.

05. Danyl - I'm SO sick of Simon's 'one of the best performances I ever saw' rubbish, Nicole and Jade did it better in auditions. It was okay, the last note made it, it was amazing, but up until then it was all quite dull?

06. Lucie - WAY too big for her Leona belts out those high notes, with Lucie not doing that she looked like she paled. Stunning voice but she went into had voice too much. She's done better, but Louis had a point, Leona wasn't that good on the first show probably. Since when was she a musical hero anyway?

07. Lloyd - The movement was not great, so I'd not say he was a 'born popstar' but I liked the vocals in general. Not flawless, not exactly special but it actually impressed me.

08. Kandy Rain - Fuss over NOTHING, sure I'd have dressed them demurely, but they weren't dressed like Sinitta last week - they just had (great) legs on show. No more slags than Sugababes in 'Get Sexy'. And I thought their vocals, choreography and general stage presence were FAR from the worst we heard tonight. People need to give them a break.

09. Rachel - The start of this was just horrible with all the echoing. Not a great fan of the song, it's SO karaoke, but I thought she entertained well, I preferred the performance aspect of it with the 'car' than I did the vocals which were just okay.

10. Jamie - One. Trick. Pony. While I don't deny it was a good vocal, if not great, he came out with his arms out like he was at Wembley again, totally ignored Robbie's advice and I just find him incredily unlikeable! Also don't agree that it takes guts for a pub singer to come on, it's just progress.

11. Olly - I really don't see what people see in him as a SINGER, it's like when one of your mates is just a decent karaoke singer. He is truly average, but such a nice guy. Didn't like any of the ad libs, totally average.

12. John & Edward - It was actually entertaining! Nowhere near as far from the others as I expected! There was actually some okay vocals and a HARMONY! Great energy but they were out of breath too much.

Sadly I am still expecting a Rikki/Kandy Rain bottom two. Shame as I thought they were both decent!

Overall:

01. Joe

02. Lucie

03. Stacey

04. Miss Frank

05. Rikki

06. Lloyd

07. Danyl

08. Rachel

09. Kandy Rain

10. Olly

11. Jamie

12. John & Edward

Standouts for me:

Danyl

Olly

Stacey

Miss Frank

Rachel

I feel sorry for the twins. And they made me laugh on Xtra Factor. They're not as bad as ppl make them out to be I think. If they started taking themselves seriously instead of makin it out to be some sort of game-show, then they would have been really good.

Kandy Rain will never win. Miss Frank are miles better. Llod was awful. He's Eoghan V.2 so all the grannies and girls will be voting for him, cuz he's got the cute-factor! Boring. Im not to sure about Rikki

Joe was pretty good. He's the strongest out of the boys, don't want none of Cheryls to win tho.

CAN'T W8 FOR ALEXANDRA'S PERFORMANCE.!

Part 1 of 2

Rachel = The backing singers outsung her mainly so she had to shout the song. She isn't going nowhere this week. Just have to see how well she does next week. 4/10

Kandy Rain = For the first time i have to say i didn't like the tart look because it was too much basically. The vocals were ok & solid performance. Cheryl & Danni are right though. If they wanted to move on from their careers they shoulda done it here really. Although one of the girls who's legs were shown on Xtra Factor were HOT in a way . 2/10

Olly Murs = Like this guy. Very good performance & vocal performance. He's 100% safe IMO. 7/10

Rikki = Another cheeky chappy here but very bland & very boring. Might be in trouble of going tonight. 1/10

Stacey = Absolutely love her. One of the absolute standout performances for me. 9/10

Miss Frank = Like them. They've been very good for a band who were put together from 3 solo singers. I thought one of them lost the high note at the start but they carried on very good. 6/10

Jamie AFRO = Love this man. So cool. Great performance, great song choice. Good vocals but not the best of the night. 8/10

Lloyd = Gave it his best shot. Very weak though & very copycat. I like him though. 5/10

Lucie = A tad overrated IMO. Yes she has a really nice voice. She's a nice girl too but definently not the best by any means & song was too big for her. 4/10

RobotRater:

1. Joe McElderry :: Adore this lad now, and the song suited him down to the ground, and proved that he has actually got a fantastic voice. Could definetly be one to watch out for, and the best of tonight for me, because he actually stayed in tune throughout it all.

2. Stacey Solomon :: Whatever her amazing personality doesn't make up for, her stunning voice does. It was a bit shaky at points with the nerves and all that, but it was a solid performance, and definetly showed she's got a good voice aswell.

3. Miss Frank :: Now, it wasn't flawless, and it wasn't as mind-blowing as I was expecting and hoping for, but it was still a performance that engaged you, and was very enjoyable to watch. It showed off the other 2 singers who have been overlooked, aswell.

4. Lucie :: Once again, I was hoping for more. But, I'm almost glad she didn't try and go for those high notes, the song was different, had she done it exactly the same as Leona, she would've been criticised for not making it her own. The nice voice was still evident throughout.

5. Jamie :: Now...I don't particularly like him, and I don't think he's nearly as good as they're making him out to be. But, never the less, it was different from the other contestants, whilst still being sort of in-tune. So, kudos to him for changing my opinion of him slightly.

6. Rachel :: I love her, and think she's seriously under-rated. Although, I think it was kind of average and she can do better, I think she kicked off the show with a bang, coped with the choreography well, and gave a good performance.

7. Olly :: It was a bit weak, and the nerves showed with him more than anyone else, I felt. But, he put a bit of character into a song which has no life really, and although it was shaky, made for an engaging performance, but he can do SO much better.

8. Danyl :: I don't understand the standing ovation, maybe that's because I can't see past his constipated look all the time. It was a totally average performance other than the last note. One note can't make up for the rest of the performance which was bland. At least he sung, eh?

9. Rikki :: I think he's getting undeserved stick. He's blatently the Scott of this year that shouldn't really be there in my opinion, but he gave a solid performance, and stayed on key throughout it all, although he is very smarmy. Good choice of song IMO, and hope to see him there next week.

10. Kandy Rain :: Dannii & Cheryl were completely right with their comments actually, as for the performance itself...nothing special, and hasn't changed my opinion of them, as I still think they're only average. Could be in trouble tonight.

11. John & Edward :: The only one not to put them last, I see. They actually held a tune, and remained sort of likeable, which is rather odd. I enjoyed watching their performance more than I did watching some others, at least.

12. Lloyd :: He has to be last, because it was simply dreadful. I'm not really a massive fan of Cry Me A River already, but he didn't even sing the high bits. Mind you, he couldn't stay in tune for the rest of it, let alone attempt the high notes. I really like Lloyd, and would like to see him do well, so this disappointed me.

Part 2 Of 2

John & Edward = Well performances they were good but the singing was just AWFUL & they are annoying. 4/10

Joe McElderry = Lovely performance, sung so fantastic. Great song choice. This guy is one to look out for. 10/10

Danyl Johnson = Flawless performance towards the end but he is very overconfident. He's safe though for definite. 9/10

Is there a way of watching lasts night show on repeat, or watch it anywhere? :(
What a $h!t opening show!!!! you cant even hear most of them sing cause of the f***ing backing vocals.

Louis may pull out of tonights show. Obviously perfectly understandable decision.

Robbie should sit in for him. ^_^
