What would be the point in performing their songs then if they were just going to fall back on the public vote?

So Rachel & Kandy Rain in the final sing off/out. Well if Simon really wants to ensure the strength of his blokes further along the line ... it'd suit him to get rid of one of the strongest opposition and keep Kandy Rain in.
