Did Nick Griffin have his phone on speed dial this last weekend ? :o

10. Miss Frank (3 black singers)

11. Rachel (black)

12. Kandy Rain (3 black singers)

All the black contestants were in the bottom 3 this last weekend which sure isn't reflected by talent

Question - the standings from this week leaked?

A bit fat apparently. Someone posted them on DS. I'm not believeing them though.

Ugh, it's Big Band Week next week. Joyous occasion that'll be, I'm sure.

Big Band Week - with special guests Westlife and Bublé :kink:

I'll find the result out on here I think just!

UGH Big Band Week, why do they bother? Is anybody EVER excited by big band week? Is it RELEVANT at all? Aside from Rikki who ISN'T going to win, do they really see big band being an influence on the winner's future career?
Louis won't be at this weekends live show on Saturday at least (Not sure about Sunday) coz it's Stephen's funeral.

Agreed, the only contestants it favours are the sort Simon doesn't want to win. The Steve Brookestein, Leon Jackson, Ray Quinn types who people fall in love with on the show, but get forgot about by the time the album comes out.

Sometimes it's nice to see an artist perform with a big band (Leona's best performance was on big band week) but it's usually a poor show with the contestants performing the same tired old songs we get every year.

Yup, wont be on either show this week and wont get an automatic vote either.

i hope they go straight to a public vote on the bottom 2 then, as it is a little unfair otherwise, unless they are expect Jedward and Miss F.R.A.N.K to be the bottom 2 in which case it wouldn't matter.

Really hope Miss Frank stay they are brilliant and deserve to do as well as JLS

Two of this weeks songs:

John & Edward will sing Oops...I Did It Again - Britney Spears

Miss Frank will sing All The Man That I Need - Whitney Houston

Oh dear at the first one, suppose it's continuing the appeal to youngsters. Love that second choice though, was just listening to it actually, will be an interesting one.

Big Band week is good, 95% of the series is going to be dreary ballads so it is good to have a bit of difference

But they should bring in a rock/classic rock week and an indie week too

The thing with indie week is that, no matter the outcome, the winner will never be indie. Quite the opposite in fact. Plus, they try making the winner appeal to as many people as they can, recording indie music isn't going to appeal to that masses. That's why the winner is usually a diva type or competent male singer, they're easy to market and obviously get all the votes.

I think they should just give up on themes, let the contestants pick, or even the judges. Big band, disco etc. may show some diversity but you have to be contemporary as well as diverse. If it were up to me I'd say they could only perform hits from the last 10 years, perhaps going over the trends in each of the 10 years over the weeks. Week 1, 2009 week, would be Lady GaGa/La Roux/Little Boots or Black Eyed Peas/Tinchy Stryder/Dizzee Rascal sort of stuff. 2008 would be Duffy/Adele/The Script/Sam Sparro/Estelle etc.
