Posted October 10, 200915 yr So...Australian singer Vanessa Amorosi, who is hugely underrated due to the fact that she has an astonishingly powerful voice, is back with another new album and the first single, This Is Who I Am, has quickly gone to #1 on Australia's iTunes  she is best known here for 2000 UK #7 hit Absolutely Everybody, before she disappeared without trace, despite the lovely Shine having been scheduled as a second single... she returned in 2007 with a fairly average album (although it did have good singles, Perfect was absolutely excellent and reached #4 in Australia) but it looks like this will be her true comeback... This Is Who I Am is very Kelly Clarkson/Pink-lite and generic but absolutely stands out for me thanks to her still amazingly powerful vocals and the bizarre guitar riff which sounds like a laughter track  would be nice to see it given a push/Radio 1 support here next year, would be nice to see a Robyn-style, 10 year chart gap comeback! October 10, 200915 yr Author would have got my 12 :P without a doubt her best song for almost 10 years :drama: of course this included 5 years of her living isolated on a farm or something
October 10, 200915 yr seriously I made the biggest mistake in my BJSC life :P and I'm sure by XXII will be too late :nocheer:
October 10, 200915 yr I haven't heard 'Absolutely Everybody' since it was out, that's a real blast from the past. Rediscovery ahoy. The new song is very generic. :(
October 10, 200915 yr Author it's generic but it grows like a fungus, I wasn't interested on first listen but it really went straight into my head unconsciously, I couldn't stop humming it, and I absolutely love it now  a big step up from her last 'comeback' single, Kiss Ya Mama
October 12, 200915 yr even tho 'perfect' only reached #4 here, it was a massive single, think it was the most played song on radio last year. (should have been lead single)
October 12, 200915 yr i don't think she's ever topped The Power or Absolutely Everybody, althought Perfect did come close
October 12, 200915 yr Author i don't think she's ever topped The Power or Absolutely Everybody, althought Perfect did come close her debut album is one of my favourite pop albums of all time, she just has an incredible voice Perfect would indeed have been perfect had it not felt like it was ending as soon as it got really interesting
October 18, 200915 yr Author just debuted officially at #1 in Australia! Her first chart topper there, that is truly a Robyn-esque comeback :D hope she releases it here, although I can't see it happening
October 19, 200915 yr good job to beat Robbies bodies (#4) and Britneys 3 (#7) which were released the same week. she is still top of itunes with Robbie falling to 6(from2) and brit up 1 to #4
October 19, 200915 yr I  Absolutely Everybody. This is really good as well. For me it doesn't have to grow. I quite like it on first listen. :P
October 19, 200915 yr love this song but the video lets it down :( so cheap ! touche! but im loving her new ranga hairstyle
November 4, 200915 yr Still totally obsessed by this song! I'm still hoping that it will get a UK release - I think it will be huge here
November 4, 200915 yr Author touche! but im loving her new ranga hairstyle  ranga? is this the Australian word for ginger? (redhead) she always did have a slight reddish tint to her hair back in the day I seem to recall, maybe it was just some of the lighting in her videos
January 20, 201015 yr Author what's this of a UK release I read on the front page :o this is possibly the greatest news I've heard since Release Me was picked up here :w00t:
January 20, 201015 yr I'm pretty sure that 'laughter track guitar bit' you talk about is a voice-box rather than a guitar. I loved AE at the time, it's a bit too cheesy for my tastes now though. The new one's in the Kelly Clarkson mould, but I fear that it'll be remixed for the UK audiences.
