As the daughter of gospel/R&B singer Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston was literally born to sing. Initially a back-up vocalist and fashion model, Houston leapt to solo stardom with her self-titled debut in 1985. Since then, she has remained one of the most successful pop artists, racking up movie roles (THE BODYGUARD, WAITING TO EXHALE), platinum album sales, and the kind of admiration reserved for the very best in the music industry. Even a publicly rocky long, abusive marriage to Bobby Brown and a severe drug addiction could not derail the pop diva.

Prediction Thread Here

This is an okay tune from Whitney but you can tell how she sings that she is no longer that fresh face singer that pop out of New Jersey back in the 80s.

THIS SONG IS AMAZING! Best on the album (aside from 'Oopsy Daisy'!)
In fact both highest debuts are very average. I was expecting something better.
This is really brilliant :D its mainly down to the girl though.

Indeed. He, on the other hand, has listened a tad too much to BEP's Where Is The Love, I say.

Chorus of this new Chipmunk single sounds like Tinchy's Take Me Back for me.
Yeah. I thought it was 'Take Me Back' meets 'I Gotta Feeling' when I first heard it
Surely that goes to 'Islands In The Stream'? :P

For sure. But charity records tend to be just that - bad.

Thanks for the countdown. See you next week. I'm off for a dose of The Saturdays on YouTube now.

Island In The Stream was funny, I liked it :P

Much better than the number ones that emerged later (both Black Eyed Peas songs for instance :puke: )

Forever is Over is good, not to keen about the um ~Chipmunks~ lmfao.

The U.K-based teen pop outfit the Saturdays formed in 2007 under the auspices of Polydor's Fascination Records. The five-piece girl group sports an accessible, melodic electro-pop sound tailored for pop radio, not to mention eye-catching good looks. In 2008 their debut single, "If This Is Love," hit number eight on the U.K. charts, only to be surpassed by "Up," which made it to number five, and "Issues" which reached number four. Their full-length studio album, CHASING LIGHTS, appeared in late 2008, followed soon after by a cover of the Depeche Mode synth-pop classic, "Just Can't Get Enough." With Spice Girls-inspired colour-coordinated outfits and distinct musical personalities, the Saturdays instantly captured the attention of the U.K. media, appearing on several television shows including the drama HOLLYOAKS LATER and the children's show ROSS LEE'S GHOULIES.
