Posted October 16, 200915 yr A-Ha have decided to split up, 10 years after re-forming and 25 years after originally getting together. The band will bow out with a farewell world tour in 2010, ending with a final gig in Oslo on December 4. And they say they will not be recording any albums in the future. In a statement on their website, the band add, “We’ve literally lived the ultimate boy's adventure tale, through a longer, more rewarding career than anyone could hope for. “Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else - and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music. We are retiring as a band, not as individuals. Change is always difficult and it is easy to get set in one's ways. Now it is time to move on.” The band originally had success in the Eighties with international hits such as Take On Me  and Cry Wolf. They split for the first time in 1993, getting back together six years later. ================== :(
October 16, 200915 yr Hmm, I'm not a big fan of a-ha, but they must be commended, if only for unleashing THAT video. Y'all know which one I'm talking about. A sad loss.
October 16, 200915 yr I'm no fan of a-ha, but yes, 'Take On Me' is a classic. I'm sure I've heard many stuff from them, or maybe that was Spandau Ballet, as I was a child, and I dunno what was playing back then.
October 16, 200915 yr It is a shame as they've still been releasing decent songs as of late but none of them have got them anywhere so maybe it might be the right thing. With perhaps a reunion a couple of years down the line ^_^ Edited October 16, 200915 yr by RobSummers
October 17, 200915 yr Shame, but they had a pretty good run. The Sun Always Shines On TV >>>>>> Take On Me btw :kink:
