08: Joseph McElderry 'Sway'

 

I don't like it :( He has a good voice (obviously) but Big Band doesn't compliment it much, at all. He should have had 'Feeling Good' :(

Joe - Not his best of the series but put on a good show, little bit shouty in the high notes but he will go far in the competition 9/10

oops forgot about Joe, excellent performance, great vocals, he is really really good, definitely the dark horse of the competition. 9/10

I don't see the appeal? He's no different than Ray Quinn or that Leon.

Joe :: I absolutely love him. I wasn't sure whether he was going to be very good when he was put through on boot camp - I can safely say he's amazing. Every note is perfect, he doesn't do all the messing around with a track, and I really like the simplicity of him. Quite liking the dancing actually! 9.5/10

A strange song choice that is far more SCD than XF of a song I've never liked. Joe does the best he can because he has no Latino flair or panache, but the song drags his undoubted likeable talent down this week. But I will be amazed if this Joe fails to make the Final 3.

09: Lucie Jones 'My Funny Valentine'

 

Anyone else think she looks a bit like Michelle Ryan tonight? :o

I really want to like her but I can't.

Lucie :: SHE'S BACK! The past 2 weeks, we haven't seen the magic we saw in her in Boot Camp & Auditions - but we've definetly seen her magic now. I might love Stacey, but I'm not blind enough to see that was the best performance of the night. Absolutely loved it - beautiful. 10.5/10

Lucie Jones - My Little Valentine 8.5

 

A good strategy by Dannii to put her on last of her acts as I fear she could be this year's Laura White otherwise. A lovely over pronounced vocal tone to her voice let down by going shouty at the top of her range. But I just don't think she is connecting enough with the audience to reach the Final 3.
