December 10, 200915 yr Isn't the whole mentoring thing a massive bunch of arse anyway? Surely they only seem their mentees a couple of times a week, at preprescribed times, always with the cameras and only for as long as they have to? I think if they saturate this thing too much then people may go off it, so yes, go for it - make it 52 weeks a year if you like. According to all accounts from former contestants unless your mentor is an Australian younger sibling of an international superstar then yes. As for the 52 weeks idea, I'm up for it, indeed anything that can kill of the golden goose that Simon Cowell has made gets my thumbs up. As I've said before X-Factor is great TV, but grotesque for the music industry.
December 10, 200915 yr The X Factor final in Wembley sounded like the Australian Idol final in the Sydney Opera House... just not as cool in my opinion :kink:
December 11, 200915 yr Gotta get more of that green, but I do like the idea of the judges getting one for each category this time around.... hope I don't land up retracting this statement though. Dannii is my fav. judge, so she better be there for next season too.
December 11, 200915 yr Money making scheme there adding an extra 4 contestants to vote for  Shock horror, let's bombard Ofcom? The changes sound great. I think more than ever this year the perceived decline in popularity of Strictly whose formula is being portrayed as stale by the media (and whose ratings are at a recent low) has kept the producers of X Factor on their toes. The guest judges idea is particularly good because it means they'll always come to a majority verdict on the week's losing contestant rather than going back to the public vote like they did every damn week this year. I don't mind an extra four contestants either, though it might be nice if auditions were a week or two briefer.
December 13, 200915 yr The X Factor final in Wembley sounded like the Australian Idol final in the Sydney Opera House... just not as cool in my opinion :kink: Everything pales in comparison to that place
December 21, 200915 yr To be honest, I think they should drop the 'judges vote to save' format as this year, nearly all of the acts that were sent home received the fewest public votes that week (the only one who didn't was Jedward, who received more votes than Olly- and probably wouldve stayed if Danni didnt have the final vote) I think the act with the fewest public votes should simply leave, as the vote seems pointless if they just take it to the public every week Edited December 21, 200915 yr by chart wizard
December 22, 200915 yr Anyone know if it's still going to be a live audience at audition stages? Or are they doing the right thing and going back to just the contestants and judges?
December 22, 200915 yr They should blatantly release X Factor Winner in January from now on. :( It'd be so much better and wouldn't face the criticism they get each year either.
December 22, 200915 yr ^ I agree. Didn't they release Steve's single in January, then changed it to Xmas number one for Shane? I do like the idea of each judge having an act from each catergory actually.
December 22, 200915 yr Yeah. Hopefully now there are 4 extra categories, Simon actually lets it last a week or two longer, for it to miss Chrimbo number 1. Just imagine the ratings he'd get over the christmas period?
January 2, 201015 yr - 16 in the final will it go on for longer :D - Each judge/mentor has one person from each category will it not be confusing....but maybe a group will wi n now that they dont have Louis :puke: - Guest judges the guests never say anything negative anyway - and a final at Wembley! meh
January 2, 201015 yr ^ I agree. Didn't they release Steve's single in January, then changed it to Xmas number one for Shane? I do like the idea of each judge having an act from each catergory actually. Wasn't it held off the top by Band Aid 20, and the week after ala Joe took the top with the proceeds of his only real single going to charity
